To clarify, Avail partners with TransUnion to generate screening reports, and they do require a valid SSN or ITIN along with a U.S. residence history in order to process those reports. That said, renters coming to the U.S. can still apply through Avail, though in some cases, they may not be eligible for screening reports due to TransUnion's requirements. We know this isn't ideal, and we truly appreciate you bringing attention to it. Hey Lakiesha, Thank you for your review! We're sorry to hear that your report is still pending—we understand how important timely updates are. While most reports are processed within 48 hours, occasional delays can occur. TransUnion, the company that provides the screening reports, has recently moved towards a more thorough background check process that sometimes requires manual verification from state and local agencies. In most cases, the reports are available within 48 hours, but it can take longer if manual verification is required. While this extends the timeline, it ensures the most accurate information is provided to our landlords and their applicants. We’d love to look into this for you and help move things along. We strive to make our service as seamless and transparent as possible, and we regret that this was not your experience. While certain serious offenses may remain on a report indefinitely, many minor offenses are excluded if more than seven years have passed. If court records do not show a conviction, that information is not reported. A formal judgment must be present for a record to appear in a background check.
