au pairs were not made to understand that this is a job
Staff of this organization are professional and helpful. However, in my experience the the local coordinator may not be as professional as those in headquarters. Some Au Pairs either chose to believe what they want to believe or were mislead not to realize that this is actually a job. I worked with other au pair program before and the au pairs were clearly told that this is a job. They are supposed to help the hosting family. I experienced a couple of Au Pairs in this program that seem to think of themselves as temporarily-adopted daughters. But I also had very good experience with some other au pairs in this program.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! We do believe that hosting or being an au pair is much more than just a job for both parties. The cultural experience is the number one motivation au pairs have for joining the program and we know families want this experience as well. However, it sounds like you had a few experiences that weren't exactly what you expected and didn't meet your needs. We are sorry to hear that! Your Local Coordinator is there to help you navigate these discussions so we hope you'll make use of them if you encounter similar issues in the future.
