I like the experience, but I don't like when you have a accident with some things in the house of your Host Family and they sometimes want that you paid it, so you need to start to put this kind of things in the contract because they can take avantage of you (Au Pair), as they know, you are alone, different language, different culture, etc.

It is difficult to find a weekend class that is accepted. I don't understand why 72 hour classes are not accepted or other courses that are a little more fun. Many other agencies accept them. (Example disney world weekend class)

We joined Au Pair USA as one of many Au Pair agencies we were vetting. We found an Au Pair who we really liked who we found out was in a rematch situation. For those unfamiliar with what a rematch is, it occurs when the original family an Au Pair was matched with does not work out, for any reason. I was able to speak with the coordinator our Au Pair worked with and learn more about the situation. The conversation, I felt, was extremely professional and candid. I then had multiple conversations with our local coordinator and the match support person to make this happen. It was a very fast turn around as Au Pair's in rematch have only 2 weeks to arrive in their new home. Throughout the initial process I was nervous, but felt supported through the whole experience. I have to say our Au Pair is working out wonderfully. She is kind, considerate, competent, and independent.
