The LCC'S sucks
Response from Au Pair in AmericaJun 6, 2023
We're sorry to hear you feel this way about your LCC. The majority of our LCC's receive amazing feedback about how they support the au pairs in their cluster. And many of our LCC's are former au pairs and/or host mothers themselves - so have first hand understanding of the program and the challenges our au pairs sometimes face. Their priority is to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all of our participants. I note you had contact with more than one of our LCC's and hope that, overall, you were able benefit from some valuable and positive experiences during your time on our program.

It was a great and wonderful experience! Living in another country with another family allows you to open your mind and discover the person you really are. I had the best host family who I am so thankful for.

No enough support for the au pair, specially during the pandemic. The payment is not meeting the minimum per hour by state and some families excuse their wrong behavior behind "you are leaving in my house and I'm paying you". The whole program is promoted as the best exchange experience when lots of au pair are not even able to enjoy their free time because of very strict families that not respect boundaries or people. **I worked as an au pair in 2019-2021

We're sorry you feel you were not supported adequately during your time on the program with us. I see from our records that you had regular contact with your LCC throughout those two years. Plus our emergency telephone number is available 24/7 should au pairs require special or urgent assistance. The US Department of State determines the weekly stipend to be paid to au pairs. Plus host families and au pairs can agree on a higher weekly payment. Again, I can see no mention in your records that you were not being paid appropriately by your host family. It's disappointing to hear that you did not feel you fully experienced the cultural exchange benefits of the au pair program. But hopefully your two years in the US provided you with some lasting learnings and benefits which will help you in later life. Thank you for sharing this review.

Thank you for posting this review. Although your comment re LCC's is a little unclear. I see from our system that you spent 2 years in the US on our program. But can't see any references to you having issues with your LCC's during that time. If there is anything you would like to discuss further, please e-mail us on [email protected] and we'd be happy to chat.

Is agreat oportunity for travel and working, learning English is easier in an environment of it, the only but I got or the reason i give 4 stars is because the week of practice, is not enough to see if you get along whit the family, at least two or a moth will be better.
