Alessia helped me with the creation of my profile and was always kind, helpful, and available whenever I needed her. She was quick to answer my questions and always happy to clarify any doubts I had. I really appreciated her support throughout the whole process and couldn’t be happier with her help!

i’ve been through 2 rematches, I’ve traveled a lot, and i’ve been growing a lot through all this process! It’s definitely not a program for the weak, it’s about being brave and not giving up! but the program has definitely made me STROONGER and i’m really happy and proud about that

The program itself it great. Coming from Canada, it was extremely easy to get my visa and everyone I’ve worked with has been great! The experience has been incredible and I love my placement and I got very lucky with my host family. From my agent in Canada to my community counsellor everyone has been so helpful and resourceful. This program has been running for decades now and I think it shows through how structured the program is, however, I think there’s always room for improvement so if I could give feedback I would say that the minimum stipend should be raised, although I get paid more than the minimum I hear many other Au Pairs don’t and especially living in upper classes parts of America it can be very expensive.

Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re so happy to hear you’re having a great experience and glad that you have felt supported throughout your journey. We appreciate your feedback about the stipend. While it is set according to the Department of State guidelines, it always good to hear of ways to improve the program. Thank you for being part of our community, we wish you the best for the rest of your placement!

I had the absolute best time in the US with APIA. I started before COVID so I actually was able to start my year in NYC and I had a blast. After that I stayed with my Hostfamily for two years and I still visit them once a year. To be honest there were things where I think APIA could've done better. For example, I think my first counselor in DC was NOT helpful AT ALL. But I was able to work with my family together and we did great. It just made me sad for all the au pairs that would've needed her help. And I've seen Au Pairs leave just because she was not good at her job. But overall APIA was a good choice and I'll always be grateful, that I was able to get to know my family through them. So if you're thinking about working with children and having an amazing time do it and be an Au pair!!!!

It's great to hear that you had a positive experience in the USA, and that you're still in touch with your host family even now! We're so sorry that you found your first CC unhelpful. From our system, I can't see any references to issues with your CC in DC. If there is anything you would like to discuss further, please e-mail us on [email protected] and we'd be happy to chat further about this.
