Most scammy company I've ever seen. Does not let you do a trial if you don't select the yearly plan and then DOES NOT send you a reminder so they can charge you 300£ for nothing.

I used Async (formerly Podcastle) as a podcast host for nearly a year, and my experience was very negative overall. The transition from Podcastle to Async was handled extremely poorly. During their back-end migration, the desktop version of the Podcastle app was offline, and I was also unable to access my account through a normal browser window. When I asked for clarity or assistance, support repeatedly deflected from my questions about their transition instead of addressing the actual issue. What finally allowed me to upload a new episode was doing something their support team explicitly told me not to do, which was accessing the site through an incognito browser window. When the only functional solution is the opposite of what customer service recommends, it’s a sign that either they aren’t really trying to help or they don’t understand their own platform. Throughout my time with Async, customer service was dishonest, condescending, evasive, and ultimately unhelpful. I often had to restate basic requests multiple times just to get minimal assistance. When their poor service finally pushed me off the platform, Async refused to export the XML data for my show — something that is supposed to be a standard part of any 301 redirect. They implied that they did not have the backend capacity to do it, which forced me to manually re‑upload my entire catalog to a new host. No reputable podcast host behaves this way. If you are considering Async, be aware: this is not a transparent or reliable hosting provider, and their refusal to export XML data should be a major red flag for any podcaster.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience so others know what to expect Predatory subscription practices. I tried their platform for a month - not realizing that I was enrolling in an auto - renewal monthly subscription. I got no email confirmation as a sign up for this. New York State laws require an acknowledgment email - a retainable acknowledgment that includes terms and conditions and an easy way to cancel. None of this was provided to me in my email. I did not even know I had signed up for auto renewal ! I did not even know I had been subscribed! When I noticed it on my Amex statements, I immediately jumped through many different confusing screens and cancelled it (at least I hope I did - reading the reviews I’m not sure!) When I brought it to their attention they told me different browsers show terms differently and they are sorry for the confusion! That’s why email confirmations in your inbox need to be sent ASYNC!! I asked for a refund and what I got was poor customer service, refusal to acknowledge that they practice a sneaky subscription technique and at the end, a lack of good faith and common sense judgment in refunding the charge. TERRIBLE SERVICE!

I’m a day late on the subscription because I work overnights and I woke up to a charge of 287 and when I first tried to use this website it didn’t even edit my video , and not I can’t get a refund and I really need the money. Do not use this website !!!

It can easily be verified that I had not logged in or used the platform at all during that time. I completely understand that companies have policies regarding renewals. However, I also believe there should be room for reasonable discretion when a customer reports an honest mistake almost immediately and has not used the service after being charged. This was a $150 charge for a subscription I did not intend to renew. That’s not a small amount of money, and I was disappointed that there was no willingness to consider the circumstances or offer any flexibility. The response I received was simply that the policy did not allow for exceptions. My frustration isn’t with the existence of a policy, it’s with the lack of customer service and common-sense judgment. Good customer support recognizes that honest mistakes happen and that long-term customer relationships are often worth more than rigidly enforcing a policy in situations like this. If you’re considering this platform, just be aware that if you accidentally miss your renewal date, even by a matter of hours and even if you haven’t used the service, you may still be responsible for the full charge. Based on my experience, don’t expect any flexibility or goodwill from customer support.

This company is a scam. they stole 143 dollars from me for a YEARS worth of service i NEVER wanted or signed any contracts for. The day they charged me i responded immediately and they said "too bad, no refunds"

I signed up and cancelled the app the SAME DAY, but they charged me three times a few days later, then double charged me for months before I figured it out. They say I had three subscriptions, but how? Customer service is TERRIBLE and worse than useless. They tell me to look for multiple workspaces but I DO NOT have additional workspaces. I have no way to access these mystery subscriptions. They apparently allow you to inadvertently sign up multiple subscriptions to extract more of your money and then make it impossible to cancel. This is despicable, hostile, malicious design. I had to go through my bank to reverse all of the fraudulent charges and block the merchant.

I was a paying Podcastle (now Async) subscriber. After the migration, my account was deleted on a date I was never warned about, and every file and recording I had was permanently erased. No prior notice, no backup, no way to recover anything. Support's only answer was that the deletion is permanent and there's nothing they can do. Losing a paying customer's entire library without warning is unacceptable. I can't recommend trusting them with anything you care about.
