I came for cPanel. I did not come for “unlimited” fairy tales
I signed up with Asura Hosting because they still sell cPanel. That is the only reason. Not the unlimited banner. Unlimited space is BS and I knew that going in. Disks, RAM, and I/O are physical. When you pack accounts onto one box and call it unlimited, you are betting most people will not use what you sold them. TonyFord.us and FatherGod.us were both on this account. The site went down for an entire day. Friends from language exchange could not get to my music or the website. I opened ticket #402730 on 23/09/2026. It is now 25/09/2026 and they are still looping. What the ticket actually says, in order: I reported FTP and site access dying. John said they were checking FTP, firewall, and daemons. Then: we are not seeing a server-side issue. Send the domain names and a screenshot. Meanwhile TonyFord.us and FatherGod.us were already moved to DataPacket.net because those two load and this box does not. I asked them to point only AnthonyWFordJr.net here and leave the main sites off this account. I told them unlimited space is not real and people abuse it. I said I like cheap cPanel but the lag and up/down is too much for the main domains. They said sorry, temporary glitch, technicians working on it. I asked for a full cPanel wipe, backups already in my hands, clean account for that one domain only. They said there is a server-wide issue so they cannot reset right now. Wait. Then they said services are operating normally. If you still want the wipe, reply PROCEED and accept all data is gone. I said are you serious, I have asked many times, PROCEED. Then John asked me again to elaborate the issue and attach a screenshot so they can recreate it from their end. I wrote it again in plain English: reset cPanel account anthonyw. Full wipe. Fresh cPanel for AnthonyWFordJr.net only. I already authorized this. You asked for the word PROCEED. I did. I accept the delete. There is nothing to recreate. You already logged a server-wide issue on this same ticket, then said it was normal. The remaining request is the reset. Confirm when the account is empty. That is not support. That is stalling. Same story on the older tickets, which I also have: #291657 – No space left on device. I could not upload. Their own reply: the shared server was low on disk. “Unlimited” with disk / at 90% and /home at 94%, cpanel_php_fpm down, load 14 on a 48-CPU box. #863883 – Login area and website off and on. Their answer: upstream datacenter issue. Wait. #073402 – 403 Forbidden from their security stack while setting up a simple forum. They said they cleared space. Check again. #300919 – Advertised instant setup was not instant. Payment hung. Site was not ready. #431997 / #900342 – I invoked the advertised 30-day money-back after I asked off the longer term because of crashes and downtime. They still walked off with about $30. At signup I already had domains on Cloudflare and tried to use one. Glitch. They forced their domain into the order. I did not want that name. I did not need that name. I am on the cheap yearly cPanel plan now with no extra domain attached on purpose. I would have pointed an existing name at it. I was not going to get screwed into buying another name I did not want. TonyFord.us and FatherGod.us are on DataPacket.net. Those two load. DataPacket dropped cPanel for Plesk and I hate Plesk, but the sites stay up. That is the whole comparison. Cheap cPanel is the only reason anything is still on Asura. A full day of downtime plus a 3–4 day ticket where they keep asking me to prove a problem they already wrote down as server-wide is why the main sites are gone. Domains stay on Cloudflare. Hosting that has to stay up does not stay here.
