I will start with the critical: • It was a bit hard to hear the doctor, and I did have to ask for clarification a couple of times. Mostly due to what I assume was a standard office phone on speakerphone, due to the 'small office reverberation' quality. As with most white Americans, I'm not accustomed to Middle Eastern/Indian accents, so that contributed to my inability to make out some of the words... But let me be clear: I am in no way suggesting that your doctors "just be more white 🦅🇺🇸"... I hope that you don't get a bunch of bigots somehow finding a way to complain about the whole world being at their fingertips. • I understand the need for the initial virtual assistant, and was a little bit thrown off at first because the fact that it was a bot wasn't initially declared, and it was presented in a way where it was labeled as a real human. I know exactly why you do this, and this is only half critical because the bot was fairly natural and didn't do any of the amnesia, question looping, or unnecessary BS time wasting and trying too hard to 'be human' by just never getting to the point. My only criticism was just that it had a name and was called the doctors assistant but I imagine that if people saw it clearly labeled a bot, they'd answer differently, stress more, and potentially even forgo getting help altogether. There may be some people who don't know how to interact with chatbots and end up having a bad experience with it, but it's actually very good for a bot in my opinion. • This last criticism is twofold: when interacting with the bot (not present as an issue when interacting with the doctor's chat), something about its chat interface was interfering very heavily with my phone's keyboard, making it horrendously difficult to type. By 'horrendously difficult' I mean that it was essentially omitting a majority of my keystrokes. If I had to guess, it is either because it had a really low update rate and typing fast saw half of my inputs vanish to that little time between interface updates.. OR possibly that the keyboard was, hmmm, drawn as 'transparent' I guess would be a good way of putting it.. That is to say, maybe typing on my keyboard also sent the taps through my keyboard and onto the chat interface itself? That's just my guesses though... Luckily I combated it by using Gboard's swipe typing function, but I imagine that not everyone is as technologically adaptable and hugely nerdy as me.. It would have been basically impossible for me to effectively communicate if I had maybe a hand injury and was still full of adrenaline, or just straight up an old person or something. I have a brand new Google Pixel 10 Pro XL using Gboard on Chrome Browser by the way. As for the second chat UI issue, I was temporarily unable to send attached photos to the doctor, and decided to attempt to use the "capture direct photo with camera" attachment option instead. This worked, and afterwards I was able to attach and send pre-taken photos from my phone's storage as well. At first, I could select and even attach my photos but hitting send did nothing and I got a red error message. Admiration and summation: 💜 Now that the very nitpicky criticism is over, the fact that I couldn't hear sometimes was remedied by the fact that I received a summary of the interaction with all of the suggestions and even next steps laid out succinctly and conveniently. The chatbot was effective, prompt, and likely much better of an option than having a bunch of nurses on standby to likely deal with unnecessary garbage. The service was extremely fast, and the transparency with the refundable 5 dollar charge gave me peace of mind in case I would have second thoughts due to very low funds or something. I would usually request the refund because I DO have low funds.. But I think the $5 is wholly deserved and would feel awful being that selfish considering the help I received. Keep up the good work. Don't get me wrong, I just decided to open with the criticism and be very detailed. This is not an overly critical review. You guys just saved me hours and hours of worry and hassle and trying to get to urgent care on a foot that shouldn't be trying to get to anywhere except being elevated and still 🤣
