Fees, more fees, and even more fees unless your rich
They suckered me in by offering a promotion if I kept my account for a period of time in good standing. Right off the bat they want to charge for not having more in my savings. Then a year later hit me with new banking fees if I don't have $3000 a month in my checking. Close th3 account and they give me a cashiers check instead of cash. When I tell them I want cash they say " you don't have an account with us so to cash it will be $5" Permanent loss of ever being a customer here again!

Customer
Unprofessional - Incompetent - Unethical
I had a very unprofessional experience at the Midwest City Arvest branch.
When I initially opened my account 6/18/26, the process took over 45 minutes, largely due to repeated interruptions from a manager who entered the office multiple times without knocking or respecting the appointment. During this time, employees were openly discussing another customer’s personal situation as I looked at him in the lobby, including details about his inheritance and adoption, which raised serious concerns about privacy.
After completing the paperwork, I discovered that my name had been entered incorrectly. I emailed the banker (Ms. Klein) on June 18 and 19 and received no response.
On June 20, I also contacted customer service and spoke to Justin who informed me that my Social Security number or EIN did not bring up any account at all. The login credentials I was provided did not work, and I was unable to access the account, which forced me to return to the branch in person.
When I returned, both the banker and manager entered my name incorrectly again and initially refused to reprint the paperwork, even though the documents clearly reflected incorrect information. After insisting, the documents were reprinted, but the account was still set up incorrectly. This time it listed my name and then the business and was set up with my SSN vs the EIN.
My business is established as an LLC in the business name, registered with the state of Oklahoma, and the IRS. The mgr. refused to set up the account in the business structure and he was rude. There was a long line of customers waiting on a Saturday, while two employees couldn't figure out how to set up a business account. This is quite disturbing.
At that point, I requested the account be closed and withdrew my funds.
Between multiple employees, including management, the branch was unable to correctly open a basic business account. I also submitted a formal complaint on June 23 to Arvest's customer service email and have received no response.
This experience reflected a lack of professionalism, attention to detail, communication, and respect for customer privacy.

Customers have a BAD taste in their mouth
I worked at Superior Bank In FSM, who started the Totally Free Banking in Fort Smith. This was a lucrative business model as the customers were loyal because of TFC. As they grew with us, the income increased and the customer base increased as well. Now, due to the changes clients have a BAD taste in their mouth. I have $30,000+ in checking and will be closing my accounts.

Sneaky Arvest
I’m giving Arvest Bank 2 stars because they have free notary services for members.
Sneaky Arvest! Suddenly my monthly service fee went up from $3 a month to $10. Without my consent they switched my account and said later that they got rid of my old checking account service. ???
I don’t recall signing anything or consenting to this! Sneaky sneaky bank. Yes, I will close this and go to the more reputable bank I have been considering for quite awhile now.

I’m not feeling the new $5 monthly…
I’m not feeling the new $5 monthly charge, so I’m taking my business elsewhere.

Disappointed
I've been a loyal customer for 23 years, and it's disappointing to see a bank charge long-time customers new fees. To avoid the $5 monthly fee, you now have to receive at least $3,000 in direct deposits each month or maintain a balance of at least $5,000. The fee is supposedly for access to financial planning and budgeting tools, but many people—especially seniors living on Social Security or others on fixed incomes—can't meet those requirements and end up paying for resources they may not even want or need. Instead of rewarding customer loyalty, the bank is creating more ways to collect fees. After 23 years, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

AWFUL new online banking
AWFUL new online banking. NONE of my "memo" lines from the previous site carried over. The new site is HARDER to navigate to get the categories for income and expenses and are you kidding me that I have to get a CODE EVERY TIME I log in??????? NO OTHER BANK DOES THAT. Our passwords are saved on our and YOUR system should recognize our devices. This new site is so horrible.

Very poor customer service
I have been lied to by multiple customer service representatives while trying to figure out why my card was closed. After several back and forth calls, I was told that I was able to get my card reactivated and now they are telling me there is no way they can do it and I was 'misinformed' and there is nothing they can do. Every call I made to them, I was told different things. They never had a cohesive answer for me. If you want a card with good customer service when something goes wrong do not choose arvest.
