While a city-issued permit is almost never required to install a stair lift in a private residence, it sounds like in your case the HOA Board for Rossmoor Walnut Creek required what they call an "alteration permit." Unfortunately, these kinds of requirements can vary quite a bit between different communities, and it's not possible for us to review every client's HOA documents, but we do appreciate the frustration you must have felt. We also appreciate your feedback about the seat comfort and positioning. That’s not a typical concern, and we’d welcome the chance to take a closer look and see if any adjustments can be made to improve how it feels for you.
