I've been an American Musical Supply customer for years and have spent thousands of dollars with them — guitars, amplifiers, drums, microphones and booms. I went to place another order on their payment plan and my debit card was refused. When I called, I was told they no longer accept debit cards. No warning to a longtime customer, and no other way offered to pay over time. If you pay by debit card, know before you build an order that AMS won't take it anymore. After all these years of business, I'm having to take my order to a competitor. — Rob Todd, Columbia, KY

Outstanding customer service! I bought Tung Sol 6V6 GT Platinum Matched Duet Tubes here. When first removed them from amp the orientation key broke off of one. Contacted customer service and the shipped a replacement set that day, received two days later.

I am a long time AMS customer and I appreciate that they are fairly close in my hometown of Reno, although I have lived in California for a long time now. Recently, I was taken by an expensive but extraordinary pedal called a Retrovibe and tried to purchase the pedal through AMS three times and three times the system locked me out and would not let me complete the sale. Then I received several emails from AMS, why I did not complete the sale. Finally I bought the $500 pedal with another vendor, but had originally wanted to give the business to AMS. Had a bad experience with Jason.E he charged my card 11 transactions for an order that was back in 2023 I was discharged of all my debts in January 2026 after filing bankruptcy and being discharged of all debts. I sent him my bankruptcy case number that showed I was discharged of all debts he didn’t care. My Credit card is currently disputing it says this is fraudulent on there end.

I have used American musical supply for years I guess I have "rockstar status" I have had to return insturments in the past and have always had problems. So I paid off entire account. Left and swore to never return. I was foolish this last month and said hey I give them another try. Ordered a bass and no surprise it showed up beat up. Have pictures to show it. To bad it looks like I can not post here. long story short....DO NOT USE A.M.S!!!

I am very disappointed with American Musical. I’ve been waiting nearly two weeks for a keyboard; there was a shipping label issue with FedEx, and they aren't resolving it. Their customer support is terrible—I’ve sent numerous emails, but the responses are slow and offer no solution.
