I purchased a camera from them and 6 weeks later I have yet to receive it. They just keep saying that it is on its way and every time give me a new day that it will be arriving. I'm kind of upset with myself for not having picked up on the signs that this might not be the most forthright company from the start. After you order you get an email saying that you should call them to expedite the delivery of your purchase... this is 2014, why do I need to call you? When you call, they try to upsell you (which many others have documented here as well). Also, they don't ask for an order number or who you are. They ask for your zip code, which seems less than safe if someone was trying to pretend to be you. I've requested a refund which they said would take 7 days. I called back after 7 days and they said that it has been processed. It has now been 9 days since I asked for the refund, they said that the refund has been provided but I still don't see it on my credit card statement. I wish I'd done my homework more with this company. There are all sorts of bad reviews on the internet (this site included) and I'm beginning to doubt if I'll ever get the camera or the refund.

Avoid this company. I ordered a new camera on Black Friday, only to have the store owner call me to verify my purchase. After confirming that I had purchased the camera, he proceeded to tell me that it's the "camera only" - "no charger, no battery, no accessories" then proceeded to try to upsell me on the "accessory pack" that was "required" when buying this camera. The website STILL lists the camera as new with no mention that it's used, removed from the box, and ships without the parts required to make it work. Also, the owner of the website reports every negative review as missing proof of purchase to try to get it removed from the review sites, abusing the system in the process.

This company is either completely incompetent or a total fraud. They jerked me around for more than two months. I bought a camera and a macro lens. The camera came within a week, but the lens was continually backordered. Finally they said they couldn't supply the lens (after two months). To get my refund, I had to return the camera as well because they were bought as a package. They said they would send a new camera overnight. They didn't. Then they said in four days. It didn't come. Today I called and they said the camera was sold out, so the order was cancelled and my money refunded. I have not received a refund either for the lens or for the entire order. These people suck! Stay away! I got the lens they couldn't supply in 60 days from 42nd St. Camera in three days. Just ordered the camera from them, too. Avoid America Cameras like the plague. We'll see if I get my refund. If not, I'm out almost $1200.

I ordered a camera for black friday (11/27) and so far (12/9) cant get the status (NOT THE CAMERA, JUST STATUS) of the order. Online just shows 'Preparation in progress' from day one. I tried to calling them at different times, waiting for 2 mins, 5 mins, 15 mins, 35 mins and gave up every time. I finally decided to stay on the call and cancel the order today, stayed for 2 hrs, and spoke to a representative. As soon as I said, "I placed an order and need status", the rep hang up. The problem is, online doesn't allow you to cancel the order and I cant do it over the phone. I am going to call my bank and see whether I can put a block on this charge. I can buy it some where else.

Don't do any business with them. After I placed an order 2 months ago, I never received the item. Their service number generally has 30 minutes wait. Their representatives have very bad attitude toward customers.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SELLER!! This is one of those online retailers that are closed Friday afternoon and Saturday. They offer prices lower than anyone else but don’t have the item in stock. They will take your order and not tell you that the item is backordered and has been for weeks or months. If you call they will try to string you along saying that it will be in next week or try and sell you something else. Weeks later they will send you an email saying that unfortunately they ran out of stock just before your order was about to be shipped when in fact they didn’t have the item in stock for weeks before they received your order. The bottom line is it’s not a great deal if you don’t receive the item.

I ordered a T5i bundle with 18-55mm lens and 55-250mm lens, battery, filters, etc. First, the order didn't go through, according to americacameras.com as they called me to verify the purchase. When I verified, I was asked if I wanted a 1 hour battery or 5 hour battery, and told the battery was not included. The battery and many more items were shown in the picture advertised for the product I purchased. I said if the camera bundle doesn't come with a battery, that is bait and switch, and I will cancel the whole order if that is the case. The man said he would cancel my order, and he put me on hold, then he hung up on me. As a result, I have missed the Black Friday and Cyber Monday opportunities to get a deal on the camera bundle.

Initially it was the great price that attracted me, I called to make sure the price was true. I wouldn't exactly say Rude but the salesperson I spoke with was certainly non professional and displayed a non caring, indifferent attitude. When I asked about why the enormous price discrepancy he got frustrated, he sighed often and seemed to be having a conversation with someone else there, I felt not very important or valued. He attempted to sell me a (US) model that had a battery and charger for twice as much. I certainly wouldn't give them my business. DO yourself a favor and call them first and feel out the situation yourself.
