I ordered a Canon EOS 60D from AmericanCameraCompany.com. After several hours of noticing that the transactions hadn't occurred yet, I started to get suspicious. I then tried to do a little research and actually found NO reviews on this particular website. I
couldn't find any feedback on the website either. Every time I did, it brought up reviews about the America Cameras website instead.
After looking at both websites, I noticed they are both VERY similar in format. They even have the exact same slogan, with just one word switched out. After reading some of your experiences, I am positive that these websites are both run by the same scammers. You'll get an e-mail asking for you to call to verify your order. DON'T! Right when my bank opened the next day I called Wells Fargo and requested them to freeze my bank account immediately. I will be getting a new card number.
I was one of the lucky ones that didn't get any money stolen from me immediately. I noticed that for some reason the website did try to take $20 from me, but it was pending. I don't know why that was, but luckily I am not $620 short. I didn't think I'd ever fall for scam websites. Do your research AND LOOK FOR REVIEWS!

Not what I was expecting..
I was shopping for the new Fujifilm X100T. I found it on this website for over $350 off retail. Great, right? The site seemed a bit strange but decided to go for it. After ordering I got an email confirming my order but no order number. Then three days later I got an email with my order number and a number to call to “expedite” my order’s processing and shipping. When I called they asked me which battery I would like to buy for the camera. I said I didn’t want any extra batteries. They informed me that the camera did not come with the battery / charger as they were a wholesaler. They then offered to sell me the full camera package for much closer to retail. I declined and my order was cancelled. However, I am grateful that I found this out before my credit card was charged and the package was shipped.
Bottom line: their prices are great, but just be careful that you know exactly what you are ordering. I would recommend calling before you place an order to inquire about the item.

I called, and they said this one is southamerican model. You cannot use or resale it in US, but we do sale US model with $1800. I said that's okay I would like to have the one I ordered, then they changed the price to ~$1450. He mentioned the extra price is for importing...
Dont trust this website at all.

Major scam!! Check reviews on other sites!
It appears that the company called America Cameras had employees create bogus reviews on this site. Do yourself a favor and really check reviews.
Here's my really long review---
Well, America Cameras got me... I did get my money back, and I'll tell you how. Sorry for the novel, but Here's my story:
Needing a middle of the road dslr to shoot commercials and short films on a budget, I found the cheapest price via google search for a nikon D5200 camera body only for $280. The guy calls the next day to confirm the order. He tells me that it's the international model. If I want one that works with US lenses and batteries, I'll need to pay like $200 more. I asked if I could change my order to a Nikon D3100 instead to stay within that $280 price range. He changed it to the D3100 for a total new price of $309.40. I was cool with that, "please rush my order!".
Weeks went by... No camera. 3 weeks later I receive an e-mail from them that my card has been charged for $309.40, and my order has been sent to the warehouse. (Mind you, their site says you won't be charged until the item ships)
Another week passes. I call to ask about the status of my order. The guy says "you'll have it in your hands in another week!" I grew very frustrated, and just decided that I'll just go to best buy and get a camera. I called them back and said "cancel the order, just to be clear, do not send the camera, and refund the card!" The guy shouts back at me "your order has been cancelled!" And hangs up on me! Fearing that this may be a fraud situation, I called my bank to see what I could do to retrieve the money, I was told to file a claim against the merchant. We did this over the phone.
I spent the next several weeks calling to try to talk to somebody at America Cameras about getting my $309.40 refunded... The $309.40 that should have never been taken. I spoke to a (seemingly nice) Anthony. He assured me that I would see the credit within 5-7 days. I did not. I called after the 7 days and talked to another nameless, faceless scumbag... He told me that if I don't see that refund that it must be an error on my banks end, and that I should challenge the account. I told him "I already filed a claim against America Cameras, and my bank is investigating them!". He replied "then there's nothing I can do for you!" And freaking hung up on me!
I called my bank to find out what the odds are that I would just lose my money. She said that out of 1500 cases she's seen, maybe 1 lost to the merchant. After a week or so, my bank issued a temporary credit of $309.40 that will become permanent if I win the case.
My bank attempted to contact America Cameras for the refund to no avail. The case then went to Visa (who issues my bank card). Visa sent me a questionnaire type form basically asking if I attempted to resolve the issue. I printed and sent them every e-mail and a nice, long letter with dates of conversations and pretty much everything I could find to confirm my story.
(Visa has the power to just go and take the money back from the merchant.)
Finally, after the original order in mid October... The cancellation in early November, I got my money back permanently in mid February. I received a letter today confirming that the credit is permanent, and I won the case. WOOOHOOOO! Suck it America Cameras! I BEAT YOU!

Buyer Be Ware!!
I compared 4 different websites when I was shopping for a new camera, Americacameras.com was one of them. I had only bought from this site based solely on price. They were the lowest price and had a free promo code at checkout. Thought this was great. Checkout process was good. However, once I placed the order I received an email saying "Thank you for your recent order, Orders can take 24 to 48 hours to be processed.
In Order to Expedite your order please contact our processing department." Ok fine. I call and get a some guy who sounds like he could care less about anything, very unprofessional. He tells me that the camera I ordered does not come with a battery. Tells me I need that to operate the camera. Really? I didn't know I needed a battery to operate a portable device. Tried to sell me all sorts of extras and i declined all but the battery. Very quickly he tells me my total and hangs up the phone. The total was over $110 more than what I was supposed to pay in the first place. After I realized what happened, telling myself "I think I've just been had," I tried to call back to cancel my order and got another guy who sounded like his life was horrible and hated everyone, asked me for my zip code and got disconnected. I call a third time and again some sorry guy. Told him i want to cancel my order, gets my info and gives me a number and hangs up.
This was my experience. Maybe others are different. I should have known something was up when on the website describing my camera there was no place on there that said "new" "used" "item includes" there was nothing just trying to sell you a bunch of extras and well over priced extras by the way. I hope this experience was just a fluke but I doubt it. I personally will never shop this site again. Oh and also I filled out a survey for them IMEDIATELY following the checkout of my item and gave them a good review because it said I will receive a table tripod and cleaning kit free......never got a confirmation on that either. Wish I can take that review back.

Horrible!!
Want to warn you about this place....
So many issues with the order I placed here. Pretty unbelievable.
- Took a week and a half just to ship out!
- Mislead to believe product was on sale.
- Delayed order through weekend and I had to call in so they could try and upsell me.
- Sales rep was so unprofessional, got clearly frustrated that I didn't want to purchase add-ons
- Sales rep negotiated and tried to get me to agree to take a cheaper model instead for same price
- Ended up paying $200 more than original order just for working camera
- My order was adjusted and the coupon code I on the purchase was removed.
Ooooh I wish I would have bought from somewhere else. Would have been cheaper in the end too.

Lies from Salesman, Annoying Upsells, and Maybe Fraudulent
I ordered a Sony RX100 from America Cameras because their price was lower than any competitor (according to Google Shopping). However, after several days delay, America Cameras sent an email saying that I need to call their customer service to finalize my order. So I called, and the salesperson informed me that the camera doesn't come with a battery in the box (which 100% untrue). He then tried to sell me an $80 battery, which I quickly found on Amazon for about $15. He then said that I will need to call my credit card company to approve the sale, because Visa thinks this sale may be fraudulent. At that point, I decided to cancel the sale because there were too many red flags. In the end, I bought the camera from another company with a better customer protection policy.
tl;dr - The salesman lied about the battery, he tried to sell me an overpriced battery, and Visa thinks this company is fraudulent. I'm inclined to agree with Visa.

Fraudulent
This company ships counterfeit, fradulent, grey market products even after telling you they are shipping an authentic american model product with warranty. Terrible. Watch out.
