Defective $2,000 Wheelchair & Terrible Customer Service
Worst company I've dealt with. Save yourself the headache. I paid $1,919.53 for a heavy-duty wheelchair in January, and it's been nothing but problems. One battery was defective, and now the chair shakes and is falling apart—even though I weigh under 220 pounds and it's rated for 450. I've tried for months to get help, but calls aren't returned and the manager is always unavailable. With only one working battery, I can't even spend a full day out. After nearly $2,000, I expected reliability and service. Instead, I got a defective product and no support. I wouldn't recommend this company.SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE UPDATE: I spoke with Millie today. She was very rude and told me the warranty "doesn't really cover anything." When I asked simple questions and tried to get clarification, she couldn't provide professional answers. Instead, she hung up on me and blocked my phone number, preventing me from calling back. This was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. UPDATE: Today the company called me and is finally taking steps to resolve my issue. They will be replacing my entire wheelchair, which I appreciate. The representative I spoke with yesterday also called back today and was much friendlier and more helpful than before. My only remaining concern is the warranty coverage for the battery. The representative I've been speaking with told me the battery is not covered under the warranty, but the company's reply to my review says that it is covered. I'd appreciate clarification because I've received conflicting information.
Response from All Star WheelchairsJul 2, 2026
Hi Lynne, Thank you for sharing this, and please accept our sincere apology. Reading this is genuinely difficult, because it does not reflect who we are or how our warranty is meant to work. A defective battery, a chair that is shaking or falling apart well within its rated capacity, and months of unreturned calls are all things we cover and should have resolved a long time ago. On top of that, no customer should ever be spoken to rudely, hung up on, or have their number blocked. That is not acceptable, and it is being addressed internally. Our warranty absolutely covers manufacturing defects, including battery failures and structural issues, and we want to make this right immediately. Since your number was blocked, please reach out directly to the owner at 669-267-5655 (ask for the owner by name when you call, and we will make sure your call goes through), or reply here with the best way to contact you and we will call you. We are committed to fixing this for you, Lynne. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to make it right, and again, we are truly sorry. Warm regards, The All Star Wheelchairs Team
