We recently returned from an incredible trip to Finland’s Lapland, and it was nothing short of amazing! This was our first experience traveling with Alexander & Roberts (A&R), and we were thoroughly impressed with their expertise and attention to detail. From the moment we started planning, A&R made the process seamless. They ensured everything was prepared well in advance, and their recommendation to reserve all activities early proved invaluable. Many travelers who waited to book upon arrival at the resort were disappointed as activities were fully booked. Thanks to A&R's guidance, we enjoyed a range of unforgettable experiences. We learned to mush sled dogs, embarked on a thrilling snowmobile search for the Aurora Borealis, and even traveled to Kemi for an extraordinary icebreaker cruise aboard the Sampo. Each adventure was a highlight in its own right, creating memories we’ll cherish forever. Our trip began in Helsinki, where our guide, Lisa, met us promptly after security. She was fantastic, offering timely advice to capture snowy photos that evening before the forecasted rain arrived. Her insights added a thoughtful touch to the start of our journey. Throughout the trip, A&R’s meticulous planning ensured everything ran smoothly—from our knowledgeable guide to the well-organized scheduling of activities at the resort. Their dedication allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the magic of Finland’s Lapland without a single worry. If you’re considering this trip, we can’t recommend Alexander & Roberts enough. I had an outstanding experience travelling with Alexander Roberts to Antarctica on the Ocean Albatros expedition ship in December 2024. This trip was a fabulous adventure, seeing thousands of penguins, humpback and killer whales, and amazing scenery. All arrangements were top-notch and the expedition crew was amazing!

I am reviewing the Enchanting Sicily trip my wife and I took from Sept. 22-30, 2024 with Alexander & Roberts. This was the fifth trip we have taken with Alexander & Roberts, so we clearly like their itineraries and organization and this trip was no exception. First, the things we liked. Our guide Elisa and driver Andreas were outstanding. If I asked Elisa a question and she didn’t know the answer (which was a rare occurrence), she would look it up overnight and come back the next day with the answer. The local travel guides were also exceptional, well-informed, friendly and excellent English-speakers. We both like archeology and came to see the Greek, Roman, Norman and Byzantine sites and were not disappointed. They were spectacular. We are wine geeks so the excursions to wineries were also a highlight. We weren’t sure how we would like our excursion to Corleone but it proved to be interesting and worthwhile. We also were uncertain about the cooking lesson, but that also turned out to be fun, delicious and a pleasant surprise. There were a couple of negatives. We have come to expect that A&R chooses excellent accommodations. However, our first stay in Palermo at the Plaza Opera was a disappointment. I would rate it as a three-star hotel but more importantly the desk staff were unpleasant. I made a request for a small amount of change and was answered with a ‘No” without an explanation or advice on where I could get it. Unlike the other hotels, which were all great, our encounters at Plaza Opera were always business-like, curt and unfriendly. It also would have been nice in the trip description material to have estimates of the travel time we would be spending on the bus each day. Looking at the trip ahead of time, I should have realized that there was a fair amount of traveling by bus. I wasn’t put off by the travel time since the longest leg was about two hours, but it would have been good to know prior to booking the trip (we still would have gone). All in all a great trip made even better by our trip leader, Elisa. Thanks.

This was our first A+R vacation and it did not disappoint. The organization of pickups and drop offs was faultless. Every guide arrived on time and all were friendly and knowledgeable about their part of the world. We chose the deluxe hotels and they did not disappoint and the one on Capri was exceptional. One minor criticism, we were unaware how close Pompeii was to Sorrento and would suggest that be made an option in the package. Otherwise ten out of ten!!!!

We took the 10 day Italy by rail tour with the cinque terre add on. Every single detail went seamlessly. All transfers, train tickets, drivers , tour guides went off without a hitch. We had no worries whatsoever. The hotels were all very conveniently located and accommodations were great. Room in Venice was a bit tight but you’re not in your room much! We were upgraded to a suite in Florence which was a lovely surprise. The guides for each tour were amazing, so knowledgeable and just great people. We would not hesitate to book again with Alexander & Robert’s.

Australia Tour in October. Very great. Included the places I wanted to go. Tour guide was very accommodating and really wanted to give us all a great experience.

It was the best trip ever, planned very well! We had the best guides on our safari adventures and felt very safe on our trip to Tanzania. Only change I’d make is updating clothing suggestions.
