Really disappointed with this company. Bought a domain name at an agreed price on January 21st, funds were verified as taken on 22nd. I chased them up on the 25th after not receiving any updates and then again on 1st Feb. On 2nd Feb they cancelled the order citing being unable to verify ownership of the domain. At first I took this at face value but today I see the domain relisted as available on their site again at three times what I was paying, so I'm pretty disgusted about it. For this reason I would not recommend this company and am very unlikely to ever use them again myself.

Not sure why these guys are suddenly emailing, with a very shady disclaimer, "By clicking this link you are hereby giving authority for thes ( an actual typo in their email ) domains to be listed, sold and transacted on the afternic DLS network. This is equivalent to a standard transfer FOA (Form of Authority)." message. No. It really isn't.

The red flags this company is setting off as fraudulant is real. Multiple reports of late payments or non payments. Their dashboard indicates after a sale that funds would be received in 3 days, it is now over 9 days and their excuses are nonsensical. After requesting a confirmation number for the wire, they refuse to give me one and say a "trace" will take 10 days. Wires very rarely get lost, and their excuses are mounting. Stay away. Update: As explained above, a "trace" on the funds was purported to have taken place on the 19th. After many emails directed to them and silence on their part, they now respond with a trace has been "requested." A payment "trace" of 4.1k USD takes 10 full days and 7 business days. Stay away from this company and Go Daddy should be ashamed. Update: Feb 7, 2024 Well past any 7 or 10 business day period to "trace" transaction and have not received any update. PLEASE ANYONE WHO IS DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY, STAY AWAY. IF I LOSE 5K TO PREVENT MORE SCAMS, SO BE IT. The scam was apparent from the beginning and is obvious now. There was no wire, no trace, just lies and deceit to prevent sending the money. PLEASE STAY AWAY. Update: I hope everyone can see the scam. They are now changing the story and pinning this on the buyer when they already said the domain was sold and funds were on the way. If anyone out there has experienced the same thing or fraudulant behavior, please write a review here and we will begin a deeper investigation of Afternic and Go Daddy.

Over the last few days, I have received UNSOLICITED emails with a single button to "authorize" the sale of a domain that I own. I have never contacted Afternic, GoDaddy, or any other party about selling the domain. Instead of a typical security inquiry asking "Did you authorize a sale?" with a yes/no option, it appears that Afternic wants domain owners to mistakenly or unintentionally"OK" a domain for sale listing with them. Seems highly suspicious and unethical.

"I submitted the agreed-upon payment to Afternic for a domain and promptly received their confirmation email acknowledging the receipt & verification of my funds. Their verification email informed that they would send me an email me in the next 5-7 days, however, it has been over 13 days since then, and I have not received any further updates from Afternic. Additionally, I've noticed that my dashboard on their website remains empty, which is concerning."

Cassie was incredibly helpful and took her time to explain each step in confirming my domain was listed for sale. After an hour on GoDaddy chat, I got frustrated and was fortunate enough to get Cassie, live-in-person on the phone to walk me through my confusion--especially in discovering I had two GoDaddy accounts.
