I am extremely frustrated with my experience after selling two domains (americapartydaily.com and elonforamericaparty.com), which were successfully transferred on October 16, 2026. My payout date still shows "--", and the system completely blocks me from adding or updating my banking details, locking me out of my earnings. When I contacted support, the experience was a nightmare of contradictions and evasion: 1. One agent claimed my case was escalated, but a later agent (Roxana) denied this, exposing that the previous agent had lied. 2. They refused to provide a timeframe for review until I heavily pressured them, finally conceding a vague "72 business hours." 3. When backed into a corner by their own contradictions, the support agent began lecturing me on "professionalism" like a schoolteacher to cover up their operational failure, while hiding behind "privacy" and refusing to provide her full name for accountability. Holding users' money hostage while locking them out of their bank settings and deploying contradictory, unhelpful support is completely unacceptable. Release my funds and fix your broken system immediately!

Afternic (GoDaddy) charges exorbitant fees: a 30 per cent commission for selling a domain on its Afternic network. Many of these terms and conditions are rather hidden and enabled by default. So you’ll end up paying the highest commissions without warning. When you buy a domain, they automatically add premium features or very long registration periods by default, so that, if you don’t pay attention, you end up paying a great deal.

The current situation at Afternic is extremely concerning. They are allowing domain transfers directly from sellers after sending emails authorizing the transfer, and even after the domain transfer is successfully completed, they are suddenly cancelling the transaction. I have spoken with many people, and the majority of them are reporting the same situation: the domain is transferred successfully, and then Afternic cancels the transaction afterward. Why would Afternic cancel a transaction after the domain has already been transferred? This raises serious questions about Afternic’s transaction practices. Sellers deserve a clear explanation of what is happening and why these cancellations are taking place after the transfer has been completed. There are also serious concerns that buyers may have already paid Afternic while the seller is later shown a cancelled transaction. If that is happening, Afternic must take full responsibility and provide a transparent explanation of where the buyer’s payment goes and why the seller is left without proper protection. Afternic is earning commissions from sellers and building its business through sellers, yet sellers are not receiving the level of protection they deserve. A fair marketplace should protect both buyers and sellers equally. In my opinion, the policy should be simple: once a domain has been transferred successfully following Afternic’s official transfer authorization, the transaction should not be cancelled without a clear, documented and legitimate reason. Payment verification should also be completed before a seller is instructed to transfer the domain. Another major problem is customer support. Sellers send emails and sometimes receive no response for days, or even receive a response many days later. This is unacceptable for a marketplace handling valuable digital assets and significant amounts of money. Afternic urgently needs to review its system, improve seller protection, provide transparent transaction procedures, and communicate clearly with sellers when a transaction is under review or cancelled. If these issues continue without meaningful changes, sellers will naturally lose confidence in the platform. A marketplace cannot continue successfully without the trust and participation of both buyers and sellers. Afternic should address these concerns seriously, investigate the reported cases, explain the reasons behind post-transfer cancellations, and make the necessary changes to protect sellers and maintain trust in the domain marketplace.

Be extremely careful before listing domains with Afternic. I was shocked to learn they took a whopping 30% commission from my sale! It's like a third of what it was sold for. I did not realize that Afternic 'Boost' was enabled on my account or that using non-approved nameservers could result in such an enormous fee. These settings and their financial impact were not made clear to me in a meaningful way before the sale was finalized. Once the sale was underway, I was told nothing could be changed. Make sure you fully understand Boost, nameserver requirements, and exactly what percentage Afternic will keep before using this platform. I will not be trusting Afternic with future domain sales and you shouldn't either.

My domain, which was not listed for sale and was locked, was stolen from me without my consent, approval, or payment. My domain was registered with a registrar unaffiliated with GoDaddy and Afternic. How can this happen? UPDATE: I never heard from Afternic despite the below, but I did already have a ticket. They confirmed the domain has been stolen, but there is nothing they can do except give me whatever someone paid for the domain ($137 in this case). That said, 10 days after providing them with my payment information, I have still not heard anything!

Not impressed with this company. Their communication is bad and the payment procedures are and lengthy, en cumbersome. You have to fillout separate bank details on Sale and parking, and you can not select from default. In the sale process you receive payment notification with a note: No action required from your side" But when you didnt select a payment method for this sale notting happends. After 7 days I contacted a Assurance Agent and got the message about not selected the payment method for this sale. So the process is waiting on nothing happening apart from Afternic getting intrest on the buyer payment. Afternic claims paymenst take 1 to 7 working days but SEPA should be within 24 hours in the same currency and 1 to 3 businessdays for exchange.

I listed my domain with Godaddy to sell a few years ago, when the process was they would message you if someone wanted to buy it and then you could approve the sell. Since then they changed the process and somehow also decided a buy now price on my domain without consulting me. Which happens to be less than the last time I sold this domain through Godaddy. Long story, but the point is 8pm sunday I am told that my domain that I have since built a business around has been transferred to another account and that the sell was binding. Then it was over a week before I could see the pitiful payout that they decided my domain was worth. They sold it for $1100 and I just received $769.10. I feel like I was scammed by Godaddy and this feels illegal. Now my domain is pointing to an online game site that makes my business look like a scam.

I was surprised when my account was permanently suspended after I reported suspicious activity myself. I contacted Afternic because I wanted to make sure everything was legitimate and to help prevent any potential fraud. I understand the need for strong security measures, but I hope the review process can be improved so that users who proactively report concerns are treated more fairly. Overall, I was disappointed by how my case was handled.
