Aetna has provided multiple barriers…
Aetna has provided multiple barriers for years when it comes to reimbursing me for allowable Medical Expenses. It is unclear whether Aetna’s Claim Department is staffed by humans or is AI driven. In submitting the same allowable Medical Claim weekly for Reimbursement that is allowed with my plan for over a year, there is now a barrier and delay to my getting reimbursement. The bill I submit clearly states on the bill by the Physician that I paid for the service out of pocket. It is inconceivable that after reimbursing me for the exact same bill for a year, I am now not being reimbursed. Now with every bill submitted in July, I am told I need to submit proof of payment. That is an absurd request from Aetna, since the payment details on the bill showing I paid in full, has not changed in over a year. This leads to having to send written documentation requesting payment I am due. It also means calls to Aetna, with my being told by each and every Health Concierge that the Coding Department at Aetna made an error. You could say if it happened once that it was a Human or AI error. But now that it is happening weekly, despite submitting all the required documentation to Aetna, it is now recurrent, delaying my reimbursement. If you have options other than Aetna, please look elsewhere. My experience is that profits are key for Aetna and not patients.
