This payment system is TERRIBLE
This payment system is terrible. I received my first MyPaymentVault (MPV) prepaid card way back in 2010 from a Verizon account refund. At that time, I created a username (UN) and password (PW) to create the MPV account associated with this new card and linked it to my checking account, and then I transferred the funds to my checking account. It seemed to work OK, the best I can recall. However, I just recently received two new MPV prepaid cards from my electric company (Potomac Edison - First Energy). I wanted to immediately transfer the funds off of the cards and into my checking account - this is something MPV says that their system supports, however, there is a BIG problem with this process. The new cards cannot be associated with the existing MPV account I already established in 2010. Apparently, each MyPaymentVault login can only be associated with one payment card (you cannot add multiple cards to one MPV account) and a bank account can can only be associated to one MPV account. There is a 1:1 relationship that requires each prepaid card to have a new MPV login with a unique UN and each new MPV account to be associated to a distinct bank account - one that is not associated with any other MPV login in their system. One prepaid card, linked to a unique MPV login/account, linked to a distinct bank account. Luckily, I had three bank accounts that I could use (many users may not). I then had to set up two new MPV accounts - one for each new card and since I had already linked to one of my checking accounts to the Verizon MPV card in 2010, I had to used a second checking account and then a savings account to link to the two new MPV Potomac Edison cards. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE SYSTEM. Eventually, if I keep receiving MPV prepaid cards in the future I will eventually run out of additional bank accounts to link to and I will not be able to transfer the funds from the MPV account to my bank.
