3 weeks of passing the buck: 6 reps, demanding past video proof, admitted their own mistakes, then closed the ticket after losing 123k+ VC.
I purchased NBA 2K26 on Steam as a first-time player. While the game itself is enjoyable, 2K Support is an absolute disaster from both an operational and ethical standpoint (Ticket: #16378686). Due to a game glitch, the unlocked "Rebirth" feature failed to apply to my newly created build, resulting in 123,477 VC being wasted. What followed was a 3-week nightmare of corporate incompetence and buck-passing: 6 Reps with Zero Handover & Data Corruption: Over three exhausting weeks, my inquiry was bounced between six different representatives (Rafa, Bob, Ola, Sam, Camilo, and Aidar). None of them read the previous logs. Following the first rep's exact instructions to prepare a placeholder save, the next rep botched the restore—downgrading my unlocked OVR cap from 99 down to 85. When I complained, they blamed me for following their own rep's instructions. Demanding "Past" Video Proof: Despite clear screenshots proving the issue, they refused to investigate without video evidence. Demanding gameplay footage of a past event that had already occurred is completely unreasonable—no one records their screen 24/7. Still, I complied and uploaded a comprehensive verification video to YouTube clearly demonstrating the bug. Admitting Their Own Mistakes and Tool Limitations: The 5th rep (Camilo) officially acknowledged the support team's mishandling and apologized, admitting that their conflicting instructions had caused confusion. Furthermore, the 6th rep (Aidar) finally admitted the cold truth: their internal system tools technically cannot restore a build to have Rebirth once it is misregistered. Ignoring Compensation and Silently Closing the Ticket: Since 2K officially admitted both their operational failure and technical inability to restore my data, I reasonably requested a direct compensation of the lost 123,477 VC to close the matter amicably. They completely ignored it. When I notified them that I would formally report this negligence to Valve (Steam Support), they didn't even respond—they simply closed the ticket and ran away. When I followed up to confirm the Steam report was filed, the system treated it as a brand-new inquiry because they had already slammed the door. Dragging a customer along for 3 weeks, corrupting save data, demanding impossible past video proof, formally apologizing for their own mistakes, admitting their tools are incapable of fixing the problem, and then silently closing the ticket to avoid reimbursing in-game currency is utterly unacceptable. 2K shows complete disregard for their players' time and money. If you run into a bug that costs you progress or currency, do not expect customer support to solve it.
