Buyer Beware
I had a policy with 2–10 home warranty company. In August, Georgia Natural Gas, red tagged my water heater due to a gas valve leak. (I called them after I smelled rotten eggs in my garage) I immediately opened a work order request with 2–10 warranty the morning of Wednesday August 19th. They scheduled a service dispatch and matched me with a company called Pronto Plumbing. The service technician came out two days later on Friday and recommended that I replace my 50 gallon water heater altogether. That made sense since it is 15 years old. The 2–10 representative stated that my plan would cover the price of the new water heater plus installation. The pronto technician stated they would need an additional $1400 paid directly to them to bring it up to code plus other required customizations. That same Friday night I reached out to 2-10 warranty stated that I wasn’t comfortable with that estimate and I wanted a second opinion from another company of my choosing or the cash in lieu option. I called multiple times for the next six days for resolution. No hot water that entire time. I received other quotes from multiple licensed plumbing companies averaging $2000 to $2500 with everything included. What on earth is really going on?? 2–10 warranty never got back to me and I had to call them today to get an update. They are only offering me $620 in cash in lieu. To say that I am not satisfied with both companies is an understatement. Buyer beware.
