Twice I've purchased from these guys and twice the product was defective. A Gilmore loaded pickguard with a dead neck pickup, and a CuNiFe strat set with a dead mid pup. Both times they basically told me in the fine print it states "sold as is - no refunds". Have to go directly to the pup makers, who, fortunately back up their products. But this time, Fender stated that because I bought it open box from zzounds, they could not do anything and directed me back to zzounds. No thanks, just took the pup to a luthier to be rewound. Meanwhile, zzounds has payments on auto pay and expect the full ammount. What a scam. Got me twice, wont get me again. beware, buyers.

I ordered a Kepma Acoustic GUI with built in effects. Packaging was great and delivery was good. I received the guitar in such horrible condition that it was unplayable on the upper frets. Kepma and Zzounds both advertised the guitar as Plekk Setup. Which is the highest setup a guitar can get. The action of f the guitar was atrocious. There was such a gap between the neck and upper frets that you could not hold notes. While playing the strings individually they would only make tiny notes because of the horrible fretting . The edges of the frets was sharp on the bottom and offset on the other side. I tried returning the guitar only to face a charge for the return. I had to pay delivery back to Zzounds which was over $130.00 . At no point did Zzounds reach out to me about the issue , they made zero attempt to even offer me an exchange of equal value. Zzounds is content to charge you for a test run of a guitar. I could have gone to an on-site retailer and played the guitar for free. But not with Zzounds. If you don’t like what you buy, get ready to pay for the privilege of playing a terrible product. I will never purchase from them again. I still have not received my money back in the purchase and in all honesty , I don’t think I will. Zzounds is the worst online retailer I could have dealt with. I could have purchased a knockoff guitar on eBay and been better off as EBay would have helped me out on the credit. This is on me. I made the mistake of using Zzounds and I’ll luce with my mistake.

Very dishonest company. Never delivered an item and say they issued a refund but never did . Have the BBB involved and making a complaint with my credit card company

False advertising,they do pull your credit even tho they say they don't ,,I have turned my experience into my attorney which he is scrutinizing that business for false advertising

This company sold me used pioneer All in One DJ unit, took my payment, processed the payment, and then cancelled the order and shipment hours later saying it had been sold to somebody else! After accepting full payment from my credit card. What kind of outdated inventory system is this that they dont know if an item is actually in stock before selling it to you? They have a script ready to go with reasons why this can happen, but it does not excuse this behavior in 2025 with robust technology and inventory systems available. Even on pending orders. Don't do business here. Extremely frustrating experience

Their in-house financing policies have apparently changed. It used to be $3500. Now it's some idiotic formula based on a $1500 limit. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars, and always paid my monthly obligations. The credit limit has been way lowered. They were always overpriced, and every guitar I bought from them wasn't at all set up correctly. I recently tried to make a purchase for $600 and was denied financing. That's fine. This company will never sell me anything again. Their easy financing was the only reason I ever bought from them. Another thing is the shipping estimate when you buy is never accurate. Also, nothing I can find on their website about a veterans' discount. Most businesses offer this.

I got a hell of a tale for ya. Someone else used my logged in account to make a payment plan order 6 to 8 years ago, not in my name and not using my credit card. Two days ago, I went to order something from zzounds. They cancelled my order, and without notification, charged MY new card $44. I called to see why and got told the aforementioned, with the additional details that since it was not my order, they could not discuss with me...which I disputed with the rep to no avail. I explained these charges were not authorized by me and I did not approve them nor did I have an active order since it was canceled. Then the charge repeated 5 times that night for an updated total of $221. Straight up robbery. I disputed the charges, closed my debit account card and ordered a new one, and contacted my attorney who suspects this is very illegal. Do NOT do business with these folks.

Been in music for over 50 years. This is the worst I have seen. Save yourself a lot of headache and buy somewhere else.
