I bought ZA Extreme Security - installed on Win7 and Win 10 machines. Working well - then they offered this NexGen program as an upgrade. I installed it on my Win 7 machine - installation went OK. So installed on my Win 10 machine. After 60 minutes - this program was wreaking havoc - deleting legacy files on my networked file server, and no provision to customize scanning locations. I could not uninstall it. I could not delete it. And even worse - it screwed up the Win 7 restore function - so none of my saved restoration slots would work. I am NOT a newbie - I build computers, and have tried restore from safe mode, as well as trying to elevate reinstall as a system user. This thing is worse than any virus it could possibly have protected me from. Fool I was for not cloning my system drive before installing this crapware.

I have had dealings with this company for the past 2 years.at first everything was fine.then every year they would contact me to sell me something new,that they said I needed.last time about 4 months ago they tried to sell me something,that they said,was a program that I needed as it was not already on my computer.I checked and found out the program was already loaded on my computer.I told them not to contact me again,as they were lying to sell products.Today,Monday 16th May 2022 ,I got a call from someone at zone firewall,I told the guy not to bother and not to contact me again.The guy just said "F### off".What a company.I will always advise against using this company.For a staff member to say that shows what sort of company this is.A nasty company that are not fit enough to trade.They should be investigated by trading standards.KEEP AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL TIMES.

I bought a lifetime Office Software pack from this company (Paid £179) , ever since on opening I get a message advising that this software may not be genuine !!! This company also installed software which allows your PC to run illegal software packages !! Now trying to get my money back .... but without success. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY>

The Tech staffneed to learn manners and not talk over the customers , Ask if it o to use christans Name of customers -- They need to Know they are not only talking to Male customers but Females as well . they also need to learn Mr , Mrs and Ms are all different and not to confuse Mrs and Ms or even Madam . If they product does not work on a windows say 8 , 9or 10 and that windows 11 is needed then they need to say so . When sending emails do not put in that you have tried 2 or 3 times before the only one sent lying is not good for a company either -- . If there is going to be extra charges explains this before a customers takes your product . Send email of contract as well . but most of all when talking to a Female customer be rude to the point of trying to make them feel inferior . It does not work with every female it rude and puts their backs up .

I have had no problem with the program itself however their Customer Service is really appalling and virtually non existent. In December last, I received a renewal notice from them. Due to the approach of Christmas, I renewed straight away but later looked at my account and saw that I, in fact had two applications running with one nearly two years to run. I sent an enquiry form to them (ticket No. 05018918). Having received no response, on the 18th January, I sent a request for a reply to my original enquiry. I also checked my account and the only details were of the new account, all the other previous entries had been deleted. Needless to say, I will not be renewing with them again.

I bought McAfee security from Amazon and it didn't work. They put me through to zone alarm without my knowledge. I didn't even realise. I thought it was a McAfee tech. They wanted to sell me zone alarm for 79.99. I almost decided to pay till the man got rude and calling me incompetent. Don't deal with them.

After buying and installing the "Extreme Security" version it immediately overwhelmed my computer resources. It significantly caused slow buffering/ playing of online movies. Even when I was not online it caused problems watching movies. Even ordinary surfing of the web was noticeably slower. Somehow it messed up my computer and internet configurations. The "Threat Emulator" feature which is supposed to scan downloads, PDF's and such, never worked for me and would result in an connection error. The "Web Secure" feature phishing protection only works with the chrome browser, not other browsers. Seems biased. Update, I was given a refund I deleted zonealarm from my computer with the zonealarm uninstaller and it left files that cannot be deleted despite the promise that it would delete all ZA files.

After being a loyal customer for over a decade and recommending Zone Alarm to many others it's hard to believe how utterly rubbish the "NextGen" that I recently loaded onto my system running Windows 11 is. Stay well away from this product, all it does now is take away your control and cause major system issues with apps and drivers.
