Trying to move software and settings from my old Windows 10 system to a New Windows 10 system. Their advertisement is that Zinstall will bring over all of your software without having to reinstall software and settings or put in keys. (I have lost most since installing on computer 5 years ago). It didn't work!!!!! What a waste of money this was. Do NOT believe anything that they say. Tech. Support is marginal!!! Had to undo everything that Zinstall did to my new computer and start over without using Zinstall.

Tride Win7->Win10 -- BAD result. Not worth. No support.
I tried it -- moving from Win7 to Win10. It did not make a backup copy of my system before starting. It just copied massive amounts of Win7 programs when I only wanted to move 2. It ran out of disk space on Win10. NO help from tech support. And, I cannot find how to uninstall it.
This is a total zero. Don't waste your time. It is taking days to repair the Win10 machine.
No help from company when process goes bad. Irresponsible. Doesn’t even deserve a single star. UI didn’t tell what was happening. Docs did not explain what would/could happen. Should have determined what HD space needed on target & compared to existing. Did NOT.
Very poor product design & user support. Don’t waste time and money.
Response from ZinstallApr 1, 2020
Our product transfers programs and files to a new computer.
It does not get installed on the computer (it is portable), and does not make backup copies. It also cannot create more space on the new computer - if the new computer has less space than the old one, you will indeed run out of space.

Zinstall Migration Kit Pro does not…
Zinstall Migration Kit Pro does not work as advertised. The support is dismal to completely non-existent. Made phone calls and left messages as they don't answer their phone and no returned phone calls. ON 12-14-20 at 4:32 PM EST, I received an email that said someone would contact me within 22 hours. REALLY?? What kind of response is that?!? When 21.6 hours had passed without ANY contact with support, I responded to the 22 hour notice email telling them they had 20 minutes left. THEN they sent an email saying my antivirus program was causing the problem. They told me to uninstall the product. I shutdown the product (using admin privilege) including the firewall and it still didn't work. Even as the admin, I cannot uninstall mcafee, I can only stop the service. I check with Microsoft and they said it cannot be uninstalled, merely stopped.
So I told support that I couldn't uninstall mcafee but I could stop it from running. They sent instructions ( 2-15-20 3:27 PM EST) that would allow me to put my old windows 10 pc into a container. So today (2-16-20) I plugged my external HDD into the OLD pc and tried again. This time it was trying to move both the C drive and the external drive (E) onto E. There's no way that would work so I unchecked drive E and then was not allowed to select the 'next' button as it was grayed out. The button would only be available if I selected E back to move to E. This would eventually fill the 4 TB drive or create a fatal exception, the latter being the most likely. So I aborted the program and emailed support explaining this at 9:47 AM 2-16-20. At 11:00 2-16-20, support emailed me again thinking I was to stupid to follow the instructions and sent the same instruction again. That was it for their help. So I uninstalled the E drive and had to reboot to complete the operation. After the restart I disabled all of mcafee and its firewall even though support said I didn't need to. Now it won't run because it complains the antivirus SW is running (wasn't supposed to be a problem with the new instructions ) even though it wasn't running. I have saved all emails with the support team as now I just want my $169 USD refunded. Based on other reviews I sure that will never happen.
Do not buy this product. I bought it because it was advertised to go from a HDD pc to a SSD+HDD pc where the SSD is for the OS and apps and the HDD is for data. It was supposed to be able to handle this scenario. Both computers are 64-bit windows 10 pc's.
2-18-2020. Zinstall finally finished the migration at 7:30 AM EST. Some programs appear to have a glitch and wont run but I can try ether manually move them or clear the drives and have a local professional IT company handle the migration. I don't feel like waiting another 4 days to get this right via Zinstall, but I just wasted $169.00 for this product as well as my time if I go the local IT professional route.

SLOW and Anything but 'Easy' Not worth $$$
ZInstall 'Easy migration' is everything but easy.
First requires ethernet connection between the two PCs but no info on how to configure. Requires both PCs be connected to the internet (SW just fails to initialize with no error message several times until finally it tells you it needs an internet connection to 'validate' itself. This is RIGHT AFTER SUPPLYING A DOWNLOAD KEY FOR THE EXECUTABLE!)
SW is extremely slow to start, took 10+minutes to detect I needed a windows update, really? Took several minutes to detect the PC it was running on- the brand new one!
Progress shows 36% complete but only 13GB of 422GB have transferred. Still shows 36% complete with 19GB of 422GB transferred. Shows its writing to HDD at only 700KB/s while loading the Intel core I3-8100 CPU at 38%. Its going to take a REALLY long time to transfer, imagine if it was over WiFi.
Complains about the connection between the PCs but gives no indication its having issues until it just stops transferring. Restarted the old PC but it's been over 10 minutes for the application on the new PC to reconnect and start the transfer again. Took half the time to reboot the old PC than it does for this application to detect a connection on the new PC. Seems I will have to babysit this for hours. It's now 32GB of 422GB transferred and still shows....... wait for it..........36% complete!
This was relatively expensive for some really buggy and HORRIBLY inefficient SW. I suggest you find another solution- I REALLY wish I had.

So this is a followup to my original…
So this is a followup to my original review of Zinstall. After installing their winwin product, which didn't work. I ended up calling support, the support person provided me a link to upgrade to the 'product' that would work, because I had purchased the 'cheap' software. Guess what. I upgraded, and attempted to moved my apps and files to the new computer. So now, none of my Microsoft programs work. Other programs had to be re-download and reinstalled, but I cannot install anything from the Microsoft store since I attempted the move. Frankly speaking, this software
does not work as advertised and is NOT worth any amount of money. I wouldn't attempt it again, even if it was free. My computer is almost usable in it's current state. But not quite, so now I get to reset the computer and start over again. And I definitely won't be using Zinstall to copy the files (I can do that by hand).

Didn't work
Didn't work. I purchased the Lite version for almost $100. When my Win 10 laptop crashed I recovered the laptop but could not download anything from the ZInstall backup files. I could "see" the files but could not download them. Technical Support asked me to send a report file - which I have done about 3 times. No reply. No recompense. No explanation. Silence. Thanks for nothing. StorageCraft Shadow Protect back up is reliable.

FullBack Looks Great, but Not Ready for Prime Time -- Don't Waste Your Time
Bought Zinstall FullBack for my wife to use to backup her laptop. She is a professor at The University of Chicago. The intended backup target was her NAS device. Both devices are on the uChicago network, but FullBack couldn't connect to the NAS. It successfully made the directories in the target NAS share, but failed with a "directory inaccessible" failure when trying to do the backup.
Scheduled a tech support session over TeamViewer. The end result of that was being told that their product wasn't designed to be used on a campus network, so I'd either have to use an indirect cloud service (files stored locally first), or an external HDD.
This seems an unreasonable limitation for just about the most expensive backup software on the market. I love the simplicity of the interface -- it would be perfect for busy professors who have no time to try and figure out how to use yet another software package, but unfortunately it seems that this program is not ready for prime time.
Also, the interactions with support were pretty awful. First level guys don't know anything at all about how the package works. You are then required to schedule a TeamViewer session with a tech, days in the future. At that point you get to text chat with someone, but frankly my guy didn't seem to know much either.
I repeatedly asked them to call me directly to expedite things, but they won't talk to anyone on the phone for some reason. If they had called me and talked with me about my intended use we could have figured out that their software wouldn't work on a real network in the first place and I could have gotten another package almost two weeks ago.
In short, this was amateur hour from beginning to end, both the software and support.
EDIT: It turns out that Zinstall tried to have this review removed, claiming that I had never been a customer. Here's part of the email I got from Trustpilot:
"zinstall.com has reported your review because they don't believe you've had a genuine buying or service experience."
Unfortunately for them, I did have proof, and sent my original invoice, my purchase confirmation email, my installation instructions email, and my cancellation notice email to Trustpilot, after which my review was reinstated.
It does not surprise me that Zinstall lied about my customer status. Hopefully others will take heed of their business practices and avoid them.
