Good software, but very expensive
It was a tough choice deciding to use Zinstall when there were so many much cheaper alternatives out there including some with an official endorsement from Microsoft. The mixed reviews here on TrustPilot also gave me some cause for concern. In the end, I decided to bite the bullet in the hope that the app would allow me to transfer everything from my old PC to my new PC without even having to back up to an external drive first. The first transfer didn't go so well. The software closed itself half way through the process when Windows objected to the default browser being changed from Edge to Chrome. Using the live chat support feature on the Zinstall website also wasn't a great experience with long gaps between replies and then getting no response at all. After starting the enire process again, this time it completed succesfully. I did have to uninstall and then reinstall my antivirus software (as advised by Zinstall) which meant that this process wasn't entirely automated. It did however save a huge amount of time. Could I have achieved the same with much cheaper software? Perhaps. Was it worth the £150 cost? Hmmm Do I feel frustrated that I cannot transfer my license to another PC so that I could get some more use out of this software? Definitely! Good software but much less enamoured with their customer care and licensing restrictions
