Not Worth the Hype
Not Worth the Hype – Disappointing Experience with the Yarbo Lawnmower After waiting nine months from the time I ordered, the Yarbo finally arrived—over the course of several weeks. Unfortunately, the long wait did not result in a great product. Setup was tedious and overly complex—I’m not sure I could have done it alone. Once operational, it became clear this is a tool, not a solution. You’ll still need to edge, weed whack, blow, and manually mow areas Yarbo can’t reach. It’s not replacing your yard work—just adding another layer. Major cons: • It leaves sections of the lawn uncut, even in the middle. • It’s too sensitive, stopping for even small twigs. • You must manually drive it to the mowing area each time. • Despite countless attempts at mapping, it still refuses to cut near edges—which defeats a large part of its purpose. In short, I would not recommend the Yarbo. While it’s somewhat helpful, so is a second riding mower—and that would likely do a better job. This feels more like a gimmick than a game-changer. Save yourself the frustration and skip this purchase.
Response from YarboJul 29, 2025
Hi there, We’re sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with Yarbo, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We’d like to respond to each of your concerns in detail: 1. Uncut grass in the middle of the lawn There could be a few reasons for this: temporary GPS signal loss causing Yarbo to drift off course, automatic obstacle avoidance, or slope-related issues. We're actively working on solutions to these issues. For example, we've optimized the slope mowing logic to improve coverage and are continuing to enhance obstacle detection for more reliable performance. 2. Overly sensitive to small obstacles We understand this concern and are continuing to fine-tune the obstacle avoidance system. Additionally, you can adjust the sensitivity through the settings menu, which may help in reducing unnecessary stops. 3. Manually driving Yarbo to the mowing area Yarbo is designed to autonomously travel from the docking station to the designated mowing area. If yours is not doing this, we’d be happy to help troubleshoot—please feel free to reach out so we can assist. 4. Issues with edge mowing Yarbo maintains a safe distance from boundaries by design to avoid collisions. However, you can try adjusting the “reduce boundary” setting in the app to help it get closer to the edges. We’re committed to improving Yarbo and providing a better user experience. We hope that with future updates, we can earn back your confidence in the product. Thank you again for your feedback—it helps us move forward.
