Gross freaking scam. Change your Billing Address (in your credit card information) to a random address in California. Save all changes, reload the page, and under "Manage Subscriptions" you will be able to turn off the automatic renewal. It's disgusting that they make it so hard for people to unsubscribe a paying subscription if they are outside of the US. They use this kind of tactics because its then really hard to have jurisdiction to actually claim back the money lost due to the impossibility of cancelation of the service if you live abroad. In my case, I live in Portugal and there isn't even a phone number I can call to, having to call a different EMEA phone number and paying the additional international charges. Also, tried to email the WSJ support team and the only email I got back was one saying "due to the amount of contacts it might take some time for you to get a reply". F*** this publication. F*** Wall Street. F*** Dow Jones. oh, and F*** Donald Trump.

Total F****** joke. Signed up for the $12 for 12 weeks which was appealing as a student. Had an inkling the deadline to cancel free of charge was approaching and logged on to do so. Found that they had initiated the full on subscription, which is a year of $45 a month that you are locked in to effectively, the day before I checked, as if to imply I had just missed it shoot! Ended up being a full week short of the timeline. Then make you jump through numerous hoops to cancel and refuse to cancel what amount to fraudulent charges.

It is difficult to cancel the subscription...policy dictates cancellation can be made only by phone call. The recorded message prompts do not give option for cancellation. I choose "O" even though it was not an option---but was able to connect with a representative. While the representatives were courteous---it was challenging to understand due to accents and muffled speech. First phone call---I was redirected after a Q & A "interview"---inquiring reasons for cancellation and then a "sell" to maintain subscription. A week later, I received an email regarding renewal payment of the subscription. Second phone call to WSJ---same recording prompts that do not direct to the cancellation of subscriptions... Pressed "O" and made connection.

People be careful about this online journal. They attract customers with lower subscription price snd then increase the price without any notice. This is kind of a trap! You will not be able to unsubscribe online or via an automated system as the automated system will not recognize your account. They are fraud company!

I successfully cancelled my WSJ membership at the start of covid in April and they told me i would have free access to WSJ for a month as some sort of covid deal. So i did not get charged the month of April but they began charging me again from May until now and they do not send any receipts! I noticed it going through my credit card statement. I am calling tomorrow to demand a refund but from what I am reading in other reviews that is wishful thinking.

extremely onerous to cancel to the point where it is impossible. No method to cancel online, when you try to cancel through their indicated method of dialing in, no one answers. You are placed on an infinite dial tone loop. DO NOT subscribe to these people. it's a joke.

They were charging me much more than I agreed to and then I could not cancel online, I had to call a phone number that was always busy. I cancelled through pay-pal and I am hoping that solves the problem.

I was a student in 2018 when I signed up for a student account. I was told this would be 4.99 a month and that my account was set to be closed in December 2018 when I was no longer a student. Almost two years later and I found that thy have still be charging me since then. Further, they never set my account up to be a student account and have been charging me a full price the whole time. A representative relayed to me that they had notes on the account that my student status ended in December 2018 and that my account should have been closed then. They have told me that they have done nothing illegal because I consented to them drawing from my account permanently. Thy will not refund me despite being the ones who told me about the notes on my account without me ever bringing them up. Ultimately, the inability to cancel your subscription online, while giving the illusion that you can or had, is a predictor practice. In all they have billed me 9.99 for 21 months longer than I agreed to and are refusing to refund me any part, including the difference for the six months I willingly subscribed as a student. Therein, they have taken 229.79 more from me then they should have. Finally getting ahold of someone who I was told could help, he did not even greet me and started with, we are not going to refund you. You can get just as reliable news from independent publications that won't steal your money, so avoid the WSJ at all costs.
