Data is woefully incomplete
Worthpoint has the potential to be an incredibly valuable resource. However, having been a paying subscriber for over a year I've learned that they are missing huge chunks of data. Take the keyword "Gunne Sax dress". According to eBay, 2-3 Gunne Sax dresses sell per day on average. There are over 1,000 sales of these dresses on eBay for the last three months. But if you search Gunne Sax dress on Worthpoint, it lists only one dress sold on eBay in all of 2019, the rest of the results are for patterns. As a seller of Gunne Sax dresses, I can say with absolute certainty that this is not correct. This problem is not limited to Gunne Sax dresses. In most of the searches I do data seems to be missing. I tried contacting the company three times without success. The first time customer service sent me a sarcastic reply dismissing my concern. The second time they told me the "data had not updated yet". The third time they told me they would look into it but never did. If you are using Worthpoint for price research, know that the information you get from this service will not be complete. I do hope they fix it at some point.
Response from WorthpointAug 11, 2020
Hello Ms./Mrs. Rosie, We appreciate your feedback and apologize for your experience. Your business is truly appreciated, and we understand how it can be frustrating not finding information that you are searching for. We conducted a search from your review and were able to find varied listings from 2020 using a “date” filter and “best match” filter as well. While we are contracted for a specific amount of information for each category in our database from each auction house, auction houses may keep their information up to 6 months in their database prior to transferring them to WorthPoint. We apologize for the inconvenience and would love to assist you again if you are interested. Kind Regards, WorthPoint Customer Care 877-481-5750 Mon-Fri 9-7 PM EST [email protected] Rosie
