update Removes features
as of the may update they removed the download feature - this is unacceptable, in Winx HD video converter they are pushing an "update" that removes features - they have also removed any mention of the feature from their site, I believe in an attempt to make users switch and pay for new software - I believe it is very unethical to remove a feature ESPECIALLY when the update does not mention this, luckily I have a previous installer so I could revert to a functioning version.
this is just bad practice and also not caring about your customers
this is a really sh**ty move

Total scam
Total scam. The software doesn't work as advertised, and you end up in an endless loop of "customer service" until they can run out the 30-day refund window. DO NOT give this company any of your money.

I purchased this by mistake
I purchased this by mistake, (My stupid mistake i acknowledge) I immediately contacted customer support, within 24 hours of purchase. They basically told me to shove it, it was my fault (which it was) and tough luck.
Good customer service, I think not!
Edit:
9 hours ago I received an email that 50% would be re-imbursed. I guess it pays to review products and services. Thank you.
Edit 3.3.22
I must say that winxdvd have been more than helpful after the initial hiccup. Their support team have contacted me and offered a full refund, which, I must say is very generous, considering the initial fault was not theirs but my doing. Thank you to them and as for me, I will pay more attention to my purchases in the future. Thank you winxdvd support team.

Withheld Refund. Never solved issue. Tried to get me to remove REVIEW in order to get my own money back.
The software was working great on a few dvd's I wanted to digitize to play in a remote location from my hard drive so I purchased the lifetime subscription. To my dismay, many dvd's wouldn't rip. I got no error message. They just wouldn't play in the preview window on winxdvd platinum pro and the copy window would flash on screen for a moment then disappear.
When I reached out to customer service, they would take a day or two to reply to me each time stretching the time over several weeks of me trying everything I could to make it work. The form letters they'd send would repeat every week and range from telling me to send them screenshots of the error codes (which I had already said were NONE), put it in "safe mode" (which I repeatedly told them and showed them I had been doing) and "we are handing your case to our blah blah team (who would, of course, never make any contact nor offer any help)." They sent me "the latest" download of their program but theoretically didn't I already have that? I had bought it less than a month ago and checked the box about the updates.
They offered me no troubleshooting advice from a real person trying to solve the issue and kept pretending they couldn't locate my receipt, order number, account...my name didn't look familiar when it came time to give me a refund which I asked for and am still asking for every day.
This product should be free if they are not going to support it. I have tried it on Monterey and Catalina. I've tried it with 4 different external drives and all the troubleshooting videos online talk about are the actual steps you use to use a working program but this program does NOT work on a great many (about 1/4th) of the dvd's I have tried. Most of them are 20th Century Fox.
I never wanted a refund. Wanted it to work. Now I simply require a refund to try something that WILL work...something supported!
UPdate: I've been asked three times to exchange a refund for removing my comments. I said "no". Any comments or questions I placed on various blogs I found about WInx on google searches (notice most comments are disabled), were erased. It's pathetic, but they are really nothing more than an advertisement company. They called my dvd's "non-standard" despite their tall claims to be able to rip the hardest most damaged ones. They felt satisfied that they'd tried to solve my problem when I told them I would not exchange my review for a refund. They did nothing to solve my problem and they have enough fake reviews.

Mediocre product, borderline fraudulent business practices
So, I wanted to digitize my old DVD collection, to save a bit of physical space. I knew that free software existed but could be a bit complex to use, so I thought I'd splurge on a paying software that would be easier to use.
I had but one simple requirement: I wanted to keep all audio and subtitles track. I like to learn languages.
The reviews of WinX DVD Ripper platinum were great, and it boasted a very fast encoding speed, which was a nice bonus. Also it had a money-back guarantee, so I could try it without any risks! Or so I thought.
First bad surprise: the UI is VERY ugly and dated. It's pretty obvious it was designed a long while ago and hasn't seen much love since. But hey, I can live with a poor UI if the rest is good.
Second bad surprise: the features are terribly limited. There are plenty of ripping profiles, and you can fiddle with a couple of basic settings in some of them, but some really obvious features are missing. For my use, it turns out that you simply can't select several audio and subtitles tracks. You choose ONE language. The only workaround is to use one very specific mode (full DVD copy) that a/ takes really long (20-40mn), b/ does not compress at all the video. DVDShrink does better, for free.
Third: some presets are fast, but not THAT fast. I feel like Hanbrake rips are almost as fast for a similar quality. As said above, some others are bizzarely slow.
Fourth: it doesn't support blurays, which is mind-boggling in 2021 (and not really advertised).
All in all I was disappointed, so I requested a refund the day after buying it. And that's when things got way more ugly.
See, for most people (and dictionnaries, I checked), "Money-back guarantee" means you get a full refund if you aren't fully satisfied, no matter the reason. But not for the WinX DVD ripper guys, oh no. To them, it means they will only refund IF THEIR PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. You know - like every business in existence, because doing otherwise is illegal. When I tried to point out that fact, they offered half a refund to placate me. Which is, again, not exactly a proper business practice.
I'm not sure how they managed to get so many good reviews. Maybe they're writing them instead of improving their software? They proved themselves to be shady, so I wouldn't be surprised. My advice for people interested in this software: take a bit of time to teach yourself how to use DVDShrink and Handbrake (both free). It wasn't as difficult as I thought and they are superior in most respects. Don't support dishonest businesses.
Edit, in response to the reply from Digiarty Software:
The "try-before-you-buy" argument is a bit fallacious, as the 5 minutes limit makes it too limited for testing.
I must also say that I very much doubt that this is a misunderstanding: going back to your site and reading the fine print about the "refund policy", it does say this: "We'll hold the 30-day money back guarantee if our products cannot normally work with error or bug and we cannot solve it". It does sound like an attempt at justifying not refunding unless the software doesn't work.
I am however grateful for your offer of a full refund and just sent you my order number. I will update this review further so that people know you do honor the guarantee, in the end.
Final edit: they responded by email, saying they would process the refund... Once I had taken this review down. As this is a matter of principle to me, I have no intention of doing so. Let them keep my money, and my review.
