I believe that Winhost is the best hosting provider but sometimes, the IIS service seems keep restarting
Response from WinhostMar 3, 2017
Ahmad, thanks for calling us the best hosting provider. We agree. :) When you say, "the IIS service" seems to restart, I assume you mean your application pool. IIS typically doesn't restart unless the server restarts. If your application pool is recycling more than you'd like it to, open up a support ticket and we can help you troubleshoot that. There are a lot of things that can cause that.

Although I've created and maintained websites since the mid 1980's, I am a relatively new Winhost customer. Every web hosting company that I've worked with over the years has their own way of operating, which makes it critical for them to have good tech support, good documentation of their server functions, and be responsive to inquiries. So far, Winhost has been one of the best in each of those areas. I am likely to move other sites that I manage to their company.

Thanks Neil. It means a lot to us when someone with your kind of experience gives us a vote of confidence.

The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because of the uncertainty of the future. I can only say this, at the current time, Winhost has great customer service; you ask a question, they will respond within the time they say they would. As for the sites, I never had any issues.
Response from WinhostSep 28, 2016
Thanks Robert. The future is uncertain, can't argue with that. But we aren't going anywhere. :)

This is the second time that I've used Winhost to host a personal website. I find that their on-line control panel, knowledge base articles, and tech support to be very helpful and informative.

Thanks Jake, glad we're able to meet your needs. We strive to be helpful and informative. And thanks for being a repeat customer! We really appreciate that.

First, I have to say that I had to move my website from Arvixe, which has a very poor organization that exhibits almost non-existent support—Beware all potential users! They took my money over my protests (outside their warranty period) when my website's server was down for over six weeks! They did not respond to my many service ‘tickets’ to move my website to a working server. Their Chat service goes through the Phillipines, with folks who cannot possibly help with obviously poor management and their equipment issues, and I had no choice after two weeks of this but to then switch ISPs immediately. Now, my early experience with WinHost is far and above that of Arvixe, in how WinHost provided content and their responses to my questions. The reason I did not award five stars is that this organization is still relying on the expertise of people. What I mean by this is I'm looking for systems (in the dry, barren desert wasteland of internet services) that employ an automated "expert system" in response to technical or other service questions. For example, I recently sent a bit of code I used in my website's email routine and asked for WinHost’s help. The initial response during a Chat was inadequate! Now, I can certainly 'feel' for the folks manning their posts—possibly youngish, with maybe little skills in the way of investigative and failure-analysis training or techniques. But, less than an hour later, I got an email with an example ASP script to use and with only two minor tweaks to my existing code, I was immediately back in business! In a communication about three weeks earlier on a less-technical question, I was 'serviced' by someone who was having a bad day. This was evidenced by their terse responses and non-answers to some of my questions during the Chat session. Again, it's difficult to respond on a daily basis to problems that other people are having, through tough communication channels such as Chat or email, and I certainly sympathize with this daily ‘grind’. Many people have trouble communicating their problem and may not even know why they are seeing the results they are. They may be inarticulate, whether through writing in Chat or an email request, or when speaking with someone. A better method is a machine that asks a few questions and either sends the data / information they may be looking for, then ‘intelligently’ waits for a reply as to whether the issue was resolved. If the machine can’t answer their question, the individual is informed that a person will be in touch shortly. Much better, in my opinion!

Thanks Gary, we appreciate you taking the time to provide a detailed review (and our condolences on your experience with Arvixe. ;) A lot of people have run in to problems over there since the company was sold and all of the customer sites were migrated to a new platform). As for your suggestions regarding chat, they're certainly interesting. Our chat system isn't intended to provide support though, it's there to answer questions for potential customers, it's a sales tool. So I'm not surprised that you found the response to a technical question inadequate, since chats are not answered by technical support staff. The quickest way to get technical support is to log in to the support portal (https://support.winhost.com/Main/frmTickets.aspx) and open up a ticket. They will help you troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively. Thanks again for the detailed review!

We are running a MVC application on .NET 4.5 framework and everything is ok. It also supports many .Net applications giving the opportunity to host beta environments in the same hosting package.

Thank you Stathis, we're glad everything is working well for you.
