Dishonest production standards and terrible customer service. Do not buy from this nursery. They are actively concealing that their ‘Filip’s Golden Tears’ Lawson Cypresses are sold as rooted cuttings rather than grafted specimens. Any reputable grower knows this conifer requires a disease-resistant rootstock to survive long-term soil-borne pathogens. By selling ungrafted cuttings, they are supplying an inferior plant destined to die. In their correspondence, they admitted to this practice but deflected blame, stating the roots were healthy upon shipping and claiming it was my responsibility to ask about their propagation methods beforehand. This level of deceit and refusal to stand behind their product proves they prioritize profits over plant longevity and customer satisfaction. This company relies on unfair loopholes to deny returns and avoid accountability. After instructing me to send photos, they rejected my claim simply because the plant had already been put in the ground. They completely ignored the fact that they sold a defective product destined to die. They even argued that I shouldn't have unpotted the plant, completely disregarding that unpotting is the only way a buyer can actually inspect the root system. Defending a sale based purely on the technicality that the roots were alive at the moment of shipping is completely unacceptable customer service. Public reviews for this establishment reveal a troubling and consistent trend: many buyers report that their plants perish shortly after purchase. Furthermore, management regularly avoids accountability by deflecting the blame onto the customers rather than examining their own stock. While a trustworthy nursery focuses on customer transparency and long-term plant health, this business fails on both fronts. Potential buyers should also be warned that the flawless ratings on their official website are highly misleading, as they actively censor negative feedback to only display positive reviews. Save your money. If you want healthy, long-lasting plants and professional service, go anywhere else. Buy a proper, grafted specimen from a reputable nursery that prioritizes plant longevity and honest business practices.

This Nursery is a scam. They advertise plants with a free shipping and a few days warranty. I paid $68.85 for a dead plant. Read all their advertisements because they are shady in being forthcoming with the information. It looks real good up front but they don't take care of their customers by sending semideadplants that aren't going to make it. I amended the soil and mulched it so it wouldn't have competition with grass . I'm on a fixed income and can't afford to pay for substandard plants .

I bought 2 sugar and spice arbovitaes. I planted and watered them exactly as instructed. After about a week the needles on one of them started turning brown and falling off. I contacted Wilson Brothers by phone and an unpleasant woman gave me an email address and told me to send my concerns to it. I did so and after 10 days I had not received a response. By then it was clear the tree was almost dead. I submitted a warranty request. A customer service person contacted me and told me my first email had been auto closed by their system and no one had read it. He then told me to submit pictures. I did so showing a tree with only about 10% of it's needles left. He responded "good news-it's still alive" (it clearly was not) and gave me instructions to do basically what I had been doing all along. During that time the second one started dying the same way the first one did. After a few more weeks both trees had lost 100% of their needles, the branches easily broke off and it was clear the entire tree was dead. I found out from a nursery that it is likely that the entire root system had died in transit. The inside of delivery trucks get extremely hot and can kill the root system. The damage doesn't show up for several weeks. It took quite a long time for my trees to reach me so this makes sense. At this point I posted a very honest 1 star review with a picture and Wilson Brothers refused to post it. Based on online reviews this is a common practice for this company and so customers are only allowed to see positive reviews when they shop on their website. Based on my experience, Wilson Brothers does not honor its warrany, it ignores and deceives its customers and it refuses to post bad reviews on its website. It is a disreputable company and I would never recommend that anyone do business with them.

Over the last couple of years I have ordered various plants and trees (Maybe 10 items). I am not a rookie gardener but all items I ordered died. Valentine pieris was the first-dead. Ferns dead. Weeping Japanese tree-dead. Lepracon dogwood-dead and doesn't even grow in my zone. All came looking good and packaged well but I noticed that none were rooted in the pots. Just a lot of mulch around the roots. Won't waste my money here again.

I ordered several Camillia plants for my home 2 years ago. The plants arrived smaller than expected. Now 2 years later the plants have remained the same size as when they arrived. I sent an email to customer service which was useless. They could care less. Will never buy from them again.

6/7/26 Upfront I will alert you that Wilson Brothers Gardens will likely issue a rebuttal to my statements. I have been a serious plant collector beginning in 1991. I specialize in the unusual, mostly shrubs and trees. I was invited to write an article for the Rhododendron, Camellia and Magnolia Group (England) Journal, which I did, and it was published in January 2025. I ordered a 3-gallon Magnolia grandiflora ‘Bracken’s Brown Beauty’ from Wilson Brothers Gardens on 5/8/23. The tree arrived on 5/12/23 p.m. with a label on the side of the container identifying the tree as “Bracken’s Brown Beauty Magnolia 3g.” On 5/13/23 I contacted Wilson Brothers Gardens via email because the backs of the leaves on this tree were not brown – an identifying characteristic of ‘Bracken’s Brown Beauty’ and the ONLY reason I ordered this tree. My email included photos of my tree and a screenshot of the description of this variety from the Wilson Brothers Gardens website, as well as screenshots from the websites of Missouri Botanical Garden, The Tree Center and Monrovia, all specifically mentioning the brown backs on the leaves. Additionally, I have four other specimens of ‘Bracken’s Brown Beauty’ in my collection, all displaying the brown backs on the leaves. Those four specimens are of varying ages, some younger and some older than the tree from Wilson Brothers Gardens. Wilson Brothers Gardens replied via email on 5/13/23 and offered many “reasons” for why my tree did not (and still does not) have brown backs on the leaves. They suggested that it could take 2 -3 years for the brown backs to develop. They said the shape of the leaves indicates that it is ‘Bracken’s Brown Beauty.’ They said the tree may not be getting adequate sunlight (my other four specimens all get the same amount of sunlight as the tree from Wilson Brothers Gardens). I contacted Wilson Brothers Gardens on 5/14/26, now the suggested 3 years since I received my tree. The email exchanges continued until 5/21/26, before which they even suggested that I wait until mid- to late-summer 2026 for the brown backs to develop. Their final email on 5/21/26 stated that they had done all they could do, and that they are convinced that my tree is ‘Bracken’s Brown Beauty.’ On 5/20/26 I contacted US Bank (the credit card I used for this purchase) and disputed the purchase. I handled my dispute via chat with US Bank because I could provide details in writing that may not have been grasped in a phone conversation. US Bank initiated a case to investigate the dispute. On 6/2/26 US Bank sent me a letter (received 6/6/26) stating that my purchase was outside their “60 days from statement date” policy to initiate a dispute. I did explain during my chat with US Bank that Wilson Brothers Gardens instructed me to wait 2 -3 years for the brown backs to be visible. If I had initiated a dispute when I first received this tree from Wilson Brothers Gardens, US Bank would have contacted them and probably would have been given the information about waiting 2 – 3 years for the brown backs to develop. The tree I received from Wilson Brothers Gardens is NOT Magnolia grandiflora ‘Bracken’s Brown Beauty.’ It is more likely the straight species Magnolia grandiflora, which is not what I ordered. All the intended “helpful” explanations from Wilson Brothers Gardens do not convince me that this is anything other than a case of a mislabeled tree. The delay incurred while I waited the 2- 3 years suggested by Wilson Brothers Gardens resulted in my financial loss and a tree in my collection that I did not order. On another note, I have placed two prior orders with Wilson Brothers Gardens, and both of those items arrived in good condition and are as described.

Problem began by Wilson bros sending me a different variety plant than I ordered. After contacting them, they tried to convince me it was the correct variety. I had a horticulturist verify the variety of the plant received was not what I ordered. Wilson would not send a label for the return. I had to dispute the charge on my credit card. A simple mistake could have had a simple solution, but Wilson did not want to handle it that way.
