I love to eat any buffalo but it is very costly to ship. So I will to buy at Costco round buffalo. Thanks.
Wild Idea Buffalo is unlike any other meat company. We began with a vision of actually improving the eco-system of the Great Plains. Our buffalo are raised on the wide open spaces of South Dakota where they eat only the native grasses beneath their feet. They spend their whole lives roaming freely on thousands of acres, and never see a feedlot or slaughterhouse. The result is better lives for the bison, the restoration of over 100,000 acres of the prairie, and sweet, delicious red meat that is actually good for you. Not such a wild idea after all!

We've been eating bison for years, it is the only red meat in our freezer. It is more expensive than beef but the quality is well worth it plus it is comforting knowing the bison is free range, grass fed, lower in fat & cholesterol, not filled with chemicals & other toxic fillers. One problem I had with "other" bison sellers is the outrageous shipping costs they charged. One company charge me $49 shipping on a $150 order, it arrived defrosted & was filled with substitutes for items that were out of stock. So I was thrilled to find the reasonable shipping rates at Wild Idea Buffalo & the product arrived with everything I ordered frozen solid. Also I was anxious to try other bison products not available at other bison sellers. We bought the "soup bones" & had a bone marrow dinner & then made a stock out of the bones. I'm anxious to grill bison tongue & can't wait to try the bull fries (I think). The sirloin & terres major steaks came out delicious. I'm convinced the quality is much better at Wild Idea Buffalo than the other bison dealers I dealt with in the past. I got a hold of an old cook book by Sam Arnold (former owner of the Fort Restaurant in Colorado) who is an expert on western cooking. The book is filled with recipes on bison, prairie oysters, bone marrow, tongue & the history behind it all. Do you know when the buffalo hunters decimated the bison herds in the 1800's the only parts of the bison taken were the bison fur for army coats and tongue which was a delicacy world wide? One train load going east had 76 box cars filled with bison tongue that made its way to New York as well as restaurants through out Europe. It is a shame these hunters practically killed off all bison in the US, wasted most of it but now the herds are back & we have Wild Idea to provide us with this delicious delicacy. I can't wait to order more.

We have grilled two different steaks and they were tender and tasty. Would definitely order again. Great product and company..

The order process was easy, delivery was prompt, the buffalo arrived still frozen, and the meat is just terrific. If you like good meat, you cannot do better in either value or quality. Thank you Wild Idea for making this possible for me.

Hands down some of the best bison meat money can buy. I've tried other grass fed bison meats and they just do not compare to Wild Idea. The color of the ground meat alone indicates high quality. Other ground bison meats sometimes have a dark red, almost brown, color. Not Wild Idea. Wild Idea ground meat is bright red. Overall, I like how the meat is harvested and how the ranch is using regenerative grazing practices to bring life back to the soil. These practices are truly evident in the end product, quality meat.

I have been eating Bison meat now for several years, but until I found Wild Idea Buffalo Company's grass fed Bison I couldn't believe the difference in flavor. The other bison meats I have eaten where animals being finished off with grain which adds a certain amount of fat to the meat. This meat when cooked leaves a beef fat like after taste in my mouth and is tough for my stomach to digest. I just received an order and this makes number three. The consistence with each order from start to finish is spot on. You just can't buy healthier meat
