Great alternative to airbnb, was a decent bit cheaper. Booking was straight forward, and my girlfriend and I enjoyed our anniversary accommodation.

My husband and I had the absolute best time for a little getaway. Whimstay provided a great price for booking last minute! (Just don’t plan on canceling. They don’t do refunds). The place we stayed was FABULOUS! We will definitely book through them again.

This location was the perfect day for anyone who is looking for a convenience and comfort! There’s a bus station right outside of the unit, which will take you either downtown or to the mountain at your leisure. It is easy to navigate, private, and comfortable, this is the perfect day for a visit to Park city!

I showed up at a property that I found on Whimstay and it looked good. I arrived to find visible black mold and mouse droppings everywhere. Needless to stay I could not stay but it was too late to book anything else so I slept in my car and left the next day. I contacted the owner of the property within 10 min. of my arrival, they redirected my complaints back to Whimstay. It took Whimstay over 17 hours to get back to me, and their only solution was to wait for them to contact the property owners. That process took 3 days to which I was issued 55% of my money back for a 20 day booking. I was not satisfied with this and wrote an email in protest, there was no response for 2 days. I wrote another email and there was no response to that as well, and that was over 3 weeks ago! Whimstay and the properties they represent hold no accountability for what they advertise. Wrost experience ever!!!! In response to your comment: If your company only replied to my emails and tried to work with me to resolve this issue; insteaded of ghosting me, I wouldn't have put this review up.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how frustrating this situation was and appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Whimstay strives to ensure our guests have a seamless and enjoyable stay, and we regret that your experience did not meet those expectations. To clarify, the delay in resolving this issue was due to awaiting a response from the property host, as they are responsible for determining refunds based on their policies. While we facilitated communication and advocated on your behalf, the host needed to approve the refund. We recognize that this delay added to your frustration, and we are taking steps to improve response times by working more closely with our partners in similar situations. We understand that the partial refund issued based on the host’s resolution did not fully meet your expectations. While this was the solution approved by the host under their policies, we have shared your concerns with them directly. Your feedback also helps us identify areas where we can improve communication and streamline the resolution process to better support our guests.

The owner of the property had our initial email address, but we updated it on the Whimstay website soon after because we stopped using that address. The owner never got the updated email, apparently. Messages came in from both the owner of the property and the vacation property place, Whimstay. Because Whimstay was sending us emails up until we started our trip, we assumed we would get check-in info in an email, or by text. We never saw the emails from the owner because she was sending them to the old address. We arrived late at night, after dealing with canceled flights and a sick child, just to discover the front door code was not easily assessable. The owner did not answer their phone. The Whimstay office was closed with an emergency number that took hours to reply. By pure chance, my daughter dug up a voicemail from the owner, who said, hi, it’s Laurie. Then she searched for a “Laurie” in my old email account and found an email from an unidentifiable email address. This old account was only accessible, because my techie husband was able to retrieve it after it was deleted. The most important details were on an attachment sent from the owner to this old email address, with the front door code buried in the middle of the page. We were tired, freezing, and finally entered the place which had no heat until at it warmed up slowly. Mice or squirrels were heard all night in the upstairs space. To top it off, the owner, Laurie, held an attitude after it all happened. She wasn’t apologetic. Bottom line: Whimstay and their property owners need to send messages from one source, and that source needs to have the correct email address of the guest (preferably with part of their name or business name in the address). Customer service should take these cases seriously if they want repeat customers and positive reviews. I rarely write reviews, but when I have they’re usually filled with praise or helpful tips. Oh, tips - always text your guests with the front door code. Emails can be harder to find. I am a vacation property owner and the guests are thankful to get that information in a clear, concise text.

We booked a nice place right on the beach in Florida, through Whimstay. The price looked reasonable as well. However, just over a week before our stay, the host Whimstay uses contacted us saying the property was no longer available, since they had maintenance issues they couldn't fix in time. They offered us other properties and "offered to cover the difference in cost", but these other places were nowhere near the beach. "Apparently", no other beach front properties were available through the site, all the way down the gulf coast. They offered a refund, which we decided to take. In the meantime, we reserved a place through a more reputable booking site, as we had very limited time. We were then contacted by Whimstay, who was supposed to issue the refund. Then they offered us several different options, some of which were on the beach - but didn't offer to cover the cost difference compared to our original booking. This didn't matter anyway since we already booked another non-refundable condo. We took the refund which we had originally decided upon, losing over $50 due to our currency exchange rate. We also had to spend hundreds more on our new reservation compared to the original that was cancelled on us. The customer care team didn't seem to care about any of this. Between Whimstay and their host company, this whole experience was a disaster. Steer clear of dealing with this company.

We deeply regret the inconvenience caused by the cancellation of your reservation and understand how frustrating this situation was for you. While cancellations due to unforeseen maintenance issues are rare, we recognize the disruption this caused to your plans. We appreciate your understanding as we worked to issue a full refund and provide alternative options. We can assure you that our team cares deeply and did our best to provide the best alternatives possible. Your feedback about communication and the impact of the cancellation is important, and we will continue working with our partners to improve these processes.
