Terrible onboarding experience: restricted with zero communication
Immediately after signing up and spending time filling out all my details, my account was restricted with no reason given. I contacted support through the provided channel, but it has been 14 hours without a single reply. If you do not support users from Bangladesh, state it upfront during registration instead of wasting people's valuable time and effort.

Stay away!!!! Stick with LinkedIn, YC Cofounder, Hacker News
As a principal representing six Wyoming based companies: Corebrain Inc. — Hydroeffacer Corp. — SpiceX, LLC — GroovyTreads, LLC — Exceed100, LLC — Spot-on, LLC, I can tell you with certainty that this place was nothing short of a nightmare when placing our two job posts for Corebrain Inc. Once we were able to place those jobs, we were barraged with fraudulent applicants. Instead of taking corrective action against the fraudsters, they suspended our account with not one communication telling us why. Words cannot express how bad our experience was with this platform — it is truly dumbfounding how they are still in business. The cost in man hours in trying to get our problems resolved with Wellfound exceeds $5k in lost wages. We never did find their recruiter customer support contact information. We had to resort to emailing their talent support and never received a response. Their lack of customer support is basically all you need to know about this company — a company is only as good as its support. Based on our horrible experience with Wellfound, we will NEVER do business with them again. We will stick with the more reliable platforms like LinkedIn, YC Co-Founder Matching, and Hacker News.
Update: we were notified today they suspended our account because we used WhatsApp to interview our candidates. If true, by limiting the use of WhatsApp (WA), they are facilitating the fraudulent activity. The best way to catch scammers is to do a live rapid-fire test on WhatsApp, whereby the candidates have to type their answers into WA and AI can analyze the answers on the spot and via the quality of their answers and the time it takes them to answer determine if the candidate is legit. By eliminating one of the most fail-proof ways to catch scammers, one has to wonder why they're on the wrong side. Also, what company in their right mind, tries to dictate to businesses what they can or can't do regarding their hiring protocol? And, what company/platform takes down a job post in the middle of interviews without notifying the company running the job post and discussing the matter with them first? If you take the worst experience one could ever imagine and multiply it by at least 10, you might start getting an idea of what we went through. Consider all that I have said here if you don't believe me, try to get in touch with their support for anything; that will speak volumes. My opinion hasn't changed and it's even more negative now. We are so relieved to have severed ties with this company/platform. We seriously believe with the magnitude of problems we had with them and the overwhelming amount of identity thieves targeting their platform, that their CEO must not be qualified to do the job. It is our opinion that Wellfound needs to tear it all down, including their software, and start all over again. Until then, if you value your time, we would advise staying away. We have learned to appreciate LinkedIn, YC CoFounder and Hacker News all the more after this horrible experience.

They banned my account without a reason. How is it even possible to get banned on the job application website. Good joke! This website never led to any decent role, most jobs look to be fake or serious preferism and xenophobia going on just for US citizens. Don't bother with them.

Hi Malwina,
We're sorry to hear about your experience, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
Your account was temporarily restricted by our fraud-prevention system — a measure designed to keep the platform safe for all users. As soon as you reached out, our team reviewed your case and restored your access right away.
We understand how frustrating that can be and apologize for the inconvenience. Please know that we take every precaution to protect both job seekers and employers from fake listings or misuse of the platform.
If you have any further questions or feedback, we’d be happy to help.
Kind regards, Team Wellfound

They hate VPNs
Every time I visit this site I get blocked. That's even after I have disabled my VPN. Don't know why they hate VPNs so much, they are privacy tools to protect one's identity online. Worst part is the ban is per account, not IP, so if you logged in with your account first with a VPN and then without, you are still blocked, making the service unusable. I'd at least request my account be deleted if I can't use the service but I can't do even that.

Hi Pat,
Thanks for sharing your feedback, and we’re sorry for the frustration this caused.
Our fraud-prevention system sometimes restricts accounts that appear to be using VPNs or proxy services to help protect the platform from fraud and spam activity. We understand that VPNs are often used for privacy, not abuse — and we’re sorry this measure affected your experience.
Please reach out to our support team at [email protected] so we can review your account and restore access. If you prefer, we can also assist with account deletion through that same channel.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to keep Wellfound safe for both job seekers and companies.
Kind regards,
Team Wellfound

Terrible customer support (non-existent…
Terrible customer support (non-existent I should say). Paying over $700 a month on a job listing and chat support doesn't respond, there is no customer service or contact number. Wildly infuriating when you need to hire for a position and you go days without responses on a listing issue you have.

The biggest scam ever
The biggest scam ever. I paid for Wellfound's premium career services and it was a complete waste of money. Terrible quality content and not helpful whatsoever. They use AI agents and AI-generated content, so do yourself a favor and use ChatGPT or some other free service instead.

My Experience with WellFound – Needs Serious Fixes
I've been using WellFound for a few months now, and unfortunately, my experience has been frustrating. Here are the biggest issues I’ve encountered:
Disappearing Job Listings – Every time I post a new job, I check back the next day only to find that it’s gone—without any explanation. There's no notification if it was removed by support or if it’s just a system glitch.
Vanishing Messages – I’ve reached out to potential candidates who applied, only for our messages to completely disappear for weeks. Then, out of nowhere, they’ll reappear in my inbox. This makes communication extremely unreliable.
Flawed Remote Hiring Options – If you select "remote," the system assumes you’re open to hiring anyone worldwide. There’s no easy way to limit remote candidates to just the U.S., unless you manually add one city at a time—which is time-consuming and inefficient.
Given these issues, I cannot recommend spending money to advertise on WellFound until they fix these major flaws. It’s simply not worth the hassle.
***AN UPDATE***
Wellfound is managed by individuals who seem incapable of handling criticism professionally. Just two days after I posted my review, they blocked my account and revoked my access—an incredibly unprofessional move. This is a major red flag for anyone considering doing business with them. You can’t trust a company that lets emotions dictate their decisions.
