WD used to deliver reliable products and a good service, but not anymore. Every drive I have purchased recently has failed, resulting in lengthy and frustrating data recovery at my expense. Their support is shocking, they don't give you a phone number to contact them on and they do not seem to have an online chat that works. Will not be using them again.

Another crap American Company, who believe they are more important than the customers they are supposed to serve. It should have been the simplest of orders, I pay money they send hard drive, however weeks later after many attempts to contact them ( system designed not to bother WD with customer issues) it was just sent without a by or leave, considering the order confirmation said usually dispatched next working day. Then some time later a reply to one of the many cry's for help sent by me, which basically said how hard life is for them, you could not make it up! Buy elsewhere, god knows what service I would get when it goes wrong.

Avoid if you can. If you use any MyCloud device bear in mind you will need another backup to backup the Cloud Device, because when it fails just out of warranty, and it will. there is no customer support whatsoever, company has become to big to care. My device was bricked by anfirmware update, which they admit but offer no support for recovering your data, also the file system of the drive is unreadable by any operating system other than Linux, so you can't even recover the data from the hard drive yourself.

Same issue as the review below. Ordered an SSD - gone missing with the courier. Western Digital support say I just have to wait or contact UPS who won't speak to me. I'll never order directly from Western Digital again.

*Anmerkung: Abwicklung mit WD noch nicht abgeschlossen. Bei Beendigung dieser werde ich diese Bewertung ergänzen und/oder ggf. abändern. Die bestellte Festplatte kam bereits Defekt an und lies keine Funktion zu. Erst wollte sich meinem Fall nicht annehmen, da ich angeblich nicht bei WD direkt sondern bei einem Zwischenhändler gekauft haben soll. Selbst nach dem Zusenden der Rechnung musste ich den Kundendienst über meinen Kaufvertrag aufklären. Der Kundendienst war am Telefon sehr unhöflich und versuchte mich davon zu überzeugen, dass mir bei einem Austausch des Geräts kein Neues zustehe. Stattdessen wurde mir geraten eine RMA durchführen, bei welcher ich mich verpflichten solle den Rückversand zu übernehmen um ein rezertifiziertes Produkt im Austausch zu erhalten. Dies verneinte ich. Dann kippte das Gespräch und der Ton wurde harscher und aggressiver. Ich bestand weiterhin auf ein neues Produkt oder alternativ auf eine Rückerstattung des vollen Kaufpreises. Derweilen bekomme ich keine Rückmeldung mehr vom Kundendienst. Die von mir gesetzte Frist für den Erhalt über eine verbindliche Antwort von WD ist bereits verstrichen. Über einem Monat geht das alles. Nun schalte ich Paypal ein. Mal schauen was rauskommt. Ich bin geneigt das Verhalten von wd dem Verbraucherschutz zu melden. Das Verhalten von wd bzgl. der abwicklung ist nicht zulässig.

I've used WD hard drives for years, without a problem, however, I had never purchased directly from them before. I never will again. Ordered 2 weeks ago. Courier has advised the item was damaged in transit. WD have been uncontactable to sort this out, either by refunding me, or by sending another. Disappointing. I personally will not be ordering directly again. I wouldn't have done in the first place if I'd have found the reviews on this page!

I ordered and PAID for one measly SD card to arrive here in at least 2 business days. Its been more than a week at this point, and no one has reached out to me. I have been trying to contact them for days and no One has gotten back to me!! I better get my refund for the time past those two days that it took to get here, at the very least.
