Acheter un disc dur. Qui a eu une durée de vie de 2 ans. Tu leur demande comment récupérer t'es données ? on te propose 20% sur un autre disc dur. Éviter cette marque !!

Es tut mir leid, ich kann das Gerät WD my passport nicht nutzen. Es wird an meinem pc nicht erkannt. Alle Suchen im Netz bleiben fruchtlos. Keine Ahnung, was los ist. Keine Kaufempfehlung!

I'm having problems with a Western Digital external hard drive. When you get on the website it offers a phone number or support the problem is when you call it it prompts you to either get online or call another number when you call the other number it sends you back somewhere else it's just a circle no one wants to talk to you so I decided to chat. I chatted with two different support people on two different occasions neither one did anything more than waste my time. Then they told me that they would have someone call me we set up a day and time and they were almost an hour late for the call and he immediately stated that the best way to shut a drive down is to turn the computer off and then pull out the USB, what a joke that was. I said you mean to tell me I'm gonna stop what I'm doing turn my computer off pull out the USB then turn my computer back on open up all the files I had and continue to work, he said yes. An even bigger joke was they sent me a coupon for 20% off my next purchase, were they serious. I truly hope this is helpful to anyone that is thinking of purchasing a Western Digital product, after all is said and done no one really wants to talk to you. I investigated Samsung products, and they have a team of support people that will gladly speak to you over the phone.

Zum Online-Shop kann ich nichts sagen, aber zu den HDD-Festplatten von Western Digital leider einiges – und leider nichts Gutes. Ich habe über einen längeren Zeitraum hinweg (4-Jahre) mehrere Festplatten von Western Digital im Einsatz gehabt – und kann nach dieser Erfahrung nur dringend davon abraten. Die Platten sind extrem unzuverlässig: An einem einzigen Tag kam es zu bis zu 26 Ausfällen – an einem anderen „nur“ 4, aber selbst das ist inakzeptabel. Jedes dieser Ereignisse führte zu abrupten Abbrüchen kritischer Prozesse, was sowohl Zeit als auch Daten kosten kann. Besonders im professionellen Umfeld ist so etwas ein absolutes No-Go. Außerdem zeigt Windows nach den Ausfällen regelmäßig sogenannte „Geister-Datenträger“ an – nicht mehr existierende Laufwerke, die sich weder normal auswerfen noch verwalten lassen. Das System lässt nicht einmal zu, den Laufwerksbuchstaben erneut zu vergeben, bevor man den gesamten Rechner neu startet – eine Katastrophe für jeden, der auf einen stabilen Workflow angewiesen ist. Als Bsp. zum Vergleich: Seagate-HDD-Festplatten, die parallel im Einsatz sind, hatten in über 6 Jahren 3 oder 4 Ausfälle – das ist ein Unterschied wie Tag und Nacht. Während Seagate konstant stabil läuft, scheint Western Digital mit massiven Firmware- oder Hardwareproblemen zu kämpfen. Fazit: Wer seine Nerven, Daten und Systemstabilität nicht aufs Spiel setzen will, sollte großen Bogen um Western Digital HDD-Festplatten machen. Für mich ist klar: Nie wieder WD-HDD's.

Lediglich in den umfangreichen Geschäftsbedingungen wurde ich darauf hingewiesen, dass bei der Zustellung eine Unterschrift erforderlich ist. Nun warte ich bereits seit vier Stunden auf UPS.

I bought the drive and haven't been able to use it for 20 hours since I bought it. I've been constantly involved in repairs. I took it to a recovery center, and they say there's no problem with the drive, no errors, no damage. Then we plug it into another computer and the drive crashes. We repair it again, and it appears to be fine, but we turn the computer off and on again, and the drive crashes. WD doesn't intend to fix this; they never want to diagnose the problem because they're afraid I won't buy a new drive. Stay away. Especially if you're on a Mac, definitely get Apple's recommendations. Don't let your data get lost.
