most of the plants died. customer service call was bad

Several plants arrived dead, two even soggy, rotten, two more died in the ground, bare root never developed plants (next year maybe?). Emails and pictures to customer service went unanswered.

I ordered several plants to place in a Memorial Garden at a nursing home. One plant was almost snapped off at the base of the plant when unwrapped from packaging and another one was such a small plant, it failed to thrive. When I contacted Wayside asking them if they could replace the damaged plant, they told me they were out of that plant at the current time, but that I needed to contact them after late August. But again they couldn't ship out until late September. They did offer to issue me a credit. I will contact, once again, to see if next year they can rectify the situation. Bottom line...the plants are so small, I probably won't bother ordering from them again. It takes too long to get plants up to normal size.

Ordered several combos. Two were missing items. When I contacted WG, was told that they couldn't get items from their suppliers. Too bad for me. Three combos had petunias in small pots. When I went to plant them, I found that petunias had been grown in tiny receptacles made of newspaper and then placed in small pots. Their root balls were smaller than size of my thumb. Only half survived and none of surviving plants flowered before the end of July. Fortunately, I had purchased plants locally to fill in my pots, at an additional expense. I had ordered combos in the past and was very happy. Won't be ordering them in the future.

One of the plants never grew though taken care of perfectly. And the no disease expensive roses have holes all over the leaves and petals.

I've had 2 troublesome experiences with Wayside: once an order has been placed, there is no way to change the order. I had to refuse the item after it arrived in order to get a refund, (which is terrible for the plants to travel roundtrip inside a box). What was a seemingly simple change couldn't be done due to their rigid systems. Also, they used styrofoam peanuts to package the plants! Sustainable packaging is easy to use for items such as plants. They aren't shipping computers or other highly fragile pieces. I won't be ordering from them again.

Two of my plants arrived dead, and it was obvious they had been packaged dead since there were no fallen leaves in the box. Then, they didn't reply to any of my emails on the subject, so I had to look up their phone number, it's not the ordering correspondence. Fortunately, when I called, they did give me a credit for the dead plants.
