Customer service was not acceptable. Received plants that died and they replaced them with plants that also died. Very difficult to talk to someone.

I placed two plant orders with Wayside in 2017. I had many prior dealings with Wayside over the years and was satisfied with the quality of the plants I received and their associated guarantee, which I only used one time for a few plants that did not survive in 2016. This year I had a different experience. Both orders I placed were for dry root plants. I followed the planting instructions to the letter when I planted them. In the first planting I only lost a few plants. In the second planting, several months later, 50% of the roots did not break dormancy. The ones that did not survive were small roots that were essentially dried out when I received them. Within the 90 day guarantee window I contacted Wayside several times and was asked two times to send pictures, which I did. After initially responding to my inquiry Wayside ceased replying to my emails. I an very dissatisfied with their very poor customer service. The least they could have done was tell me they did not intend to honor their advertised guarantee. Even though I'm out a little less than $100 in the poor quality merchandize I received, what really bothers me is Wayside's lack of integrity. In my opinion Wayside is no longer a top tier internet merchant. I found this out the hard way.

I was shipped a tree that had no branches and looked like a metal Shepard’s stick. I immediately placed it in a bucket of water for two days and planted it. After 2-3 weeks some leaves did come out. After three months the leaves turned brown and the tree died. The tree did not have a large root system and no branches. Not impressed. This was a ruby falls redbud.

I bought 12 plants at an exorbitant price and they all died except 4. They were planted and watered correctly. They were tiny, way smaller than displayed and survivors have not grown much. Very disappointed in this service. When I called to get them replaced they said they had no record of my order.

POor customer service. Some plants arrived dead, were not replaced. I didn’t have time to pursue this, but I shouldn’t have to.

I ordered a weeping redbud and it only grew on two sides. Never has filled out. It was replaced this year and it looks worse than the first one. Ordered some Lantana and it came piled in a box. None of them took hold. They did credit me for these. I would not ever buy from this place again.

Wayside does NOT stand by their plants. I have ordered numerous plants and most are excellent. I take good care of them before getting them in the ground and thought Wayside would make it good when one died soon after arrival. They did NOT.
