Melissa Flesch in 98118 was incredibly rude, unprofessional and gave us the creeps. I didn’t want her in my home again, as she seemed like a dishonest person and very unfriendly. I would like to know Wag! had better judgement of who they let be walkers of our dogs, trusting people into our home is a big deal. They say they verify their walkers, but this one really shouldn’t be working with them if they are a credible company. She was truly awful.

I have tried to book a walk but they…
I have tried to book a walk but they responded two hours later. They charged me for 3 dogs walk but only walk one dog. When talking to the supervisor, Tom, he blamed me for not having the latest application installed, went and delete my app and install the same app that I found on the Samsung Play Store, which was the same as the one I had, still, I couldn't book walks. This is not the first time they charged me for 3 dogs instead of two, if you call, the wait for them to respond is more than 30 minutes, bad customer service and very slow in responses. The walkers are great, their app and customer service needs a lot of improvement. Blaming the customer for their mistake of not answering a message in two hours is unacceptable, bad customer service but great walkers.

Hi Octavia,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. This is certainly not the experience we want for you to have. We always want to ensure that you are properly charged and have ensured that your account has been credited for your previous walk and additional dog charge. I have also credited your account so that your next walk is on me. I would be happy to personally assist with working through any issues you are having booking walks. You can reach the Customer Care team and I directly at [email protected].

Horrible
Horrible. Unreliable. The walkers were fine. The customer service from the app was awful. You need them to book walks for multiple dogs. I spent over an hour trying to reach them one morning when the walker didn’t show. Turned out the customer service people didn’t complete my booking and left me stranded. Now they won’t refund the $100 in credits I have left on my account and won’t get back to me via email, calls or text.

Not worth it--go through Rover or self-advertise
I signed up to be a walker and received a reminder email the evening before my scheduled orientation. Good sign. About 10 of us met at the designated location and waited 15 minutes for the representative to show up before I called customer service, which was the only number available on the app--no option to contact someone locally. I finally reached someone after over 10 minutes of waiting. In the background, I could hear the voices of staff chatting and giggling and talking about things unrelated to providing service, which is frustrating to a customer who was just waiting so long to get a hold of someone. Maybe they were on their break, so whatever, we will let that one go. The wag corporate office, or wherever the customer service number directed me to, was not helpful and could not track down what happened to the representative who was now supposed to be on site almost 30 minutes ago. Our group was mostly just worried about this person who was supposed to be leading the orientation--maybe she got in an accident or something and we were more than happy to reschedule in the event of an emergency. You would think there would be a system in place for walkers to be notified of any last minute changes or cancellations. It's been a week and there hasn't been any explanation of what happened and wag took no accountability for the inconvenience. When I was almost finished talking to the customer service representative who told me "we understand if you have to leave" at minute 30 (because that's what the group agreed to do, wait a total of 30 minutes), I requested that our $25 background check fees be waived for the inconvenience. I believe this was a fair request. The representative said that it probably wouldn't be a problem but that he didn't have control over that. Meanwhile, while on hold while he tried to contact somebody who could help, I text messaged the wag number that I had been receiving messages from. Again, no help was received and the last I heard via text message was "The separate department we reached out to is currently looking into the situation. At this time we have no further update."
Later that day, a text message apologizing for the inconvenience arrives and says "as a courtesy" wag will allow me to continue to register virtually and will send the swag (t-shirt and bandana to wear on walks) by mail. A follow-up email comes with the content below:
Follow this link to build your Wag! Walker Profile and activate your account!
What You’ll Need:
1. A Short Bio: Write a short paragraph (4-8 sentences), in the first person, telling dog owners a little bit about yourself and your experience with dogs.
2. A Credit or Debit Card: A one-time on-boarding fee of $25 will be charged. You'll have the option to order a Wag T-shirt and Dog Bandana, which when used on your walks, will earn you an additional $1 bonus for each walk. Pay only the cost of shipping ($5).
3. A Headshot: Finally, you'll receive an email with instructions on shooting and submitting your Wag Walker Profile Photo. Remember, this will be seen by your potential clients. Follow the instructions closely to increase pup-ularity on the platform!
So not only do they decline my request to waive the onboarding fee, but now since I didn't get to receive my t-shirt in person, I have to pay $5 in shipping to have it sent to me. When I expressed my disappointment in this as a response to the apology text, I was told "We let you know in the previous message that we are sending the swag to you via mail already. You do not need to opt-in for the swag." The previous message said instructions for next steps would be in the email. Well, you see the email and that there is no mention of opting in. The communication that followed via text was unprofessional, unhelpful, and discouraging.
Wag customers--walkers and pet owners--deserve better than what this company is able to provide. Wag lacks professional communication skills, a risk management protocol, and basic customer service skills. I had high hopes since I have a friend who is a wag walker and I was looking forward to exploring the attractive and seemingly functional app.
My distaste was sealed today when I saw aforementioned friend and she told me about her recent negative experience. She was walking a dog that ended up biting her and continued to attack until, with the help of a bystander, was forced to secure the dog to a pole. She called wag and said that she was not comfortable continuing the walk. They sent another dog walker to take over, ignored her request that this dog be reconsidered as an acceptable pet for wag, and did not compensate her for the hour and a half that she had to wait for another walker to arrive. There is so much wrong with that.
For anyone considering this, I recommend finding a way to advertise your services independently, or using Rover.

Unacceptable customer service at the expense of my poor dog
We had a walk scheduled for 1pm today, where the company says they ask for a +/- 30 minute interval time from the schedule time. At 1:23, I was told that the walker would arrive by 145, already late. At 145 I contacted the walker to ask where he was as it still did not show that he was there, and he mentioned he was 15-20 minutes away at least, due to train traffic. I wait another 20 min and contact him again, and still he says hes "10-15 min away, depending on if he can make the train transfer".
I can tell that this guy has no idea when he's actually going to make it to my apartment to get my dog (already an hour after the scheduled time), so I call Wag support and click the "time sensitive request". I'm put on hold. For 6 minutes. and no connection. So I hang up. I'm texting their support to find an alternate walker and at 226 they were STILL trying to find someone as this first bozo was still stuck on the train.
Wag should be first off embarrassed and ashamed at how their so called customer service works with its customers, and livid at the walker for not having the foresight to think that a day with some snow here would cause train delays.
My poor dog has been waiting for 1.5 hours after the scheduled time to be able to use the bathroom. I ended up calling my local doggy daycare who was able to get a walker over and pick him up within 5 minutes of me calling.
I will never be using Wag again and implore anyone reading this review to continue to use your local daycares and dog walking services over this business.

Just bad....
First, I’m in San Rafael, California. I am sure there are a variety of walkers within this company that are not all bad but this was my experience and since I can’t seem to review the specific city I’m in, I thought I’d let you know in case you may be getting the same walkers.
I was so excited about this app as my schedule is never consistent. I thought this would be the answer! However, after 5 walks, 4 walkers I am done before I ever really got started. The entire point of my using this service was to ease my mind while away at work. I have a new puppy who is very shy and scared of almost everything so I was extremely nervous.
It should be noted that this review is not bad because of my dog, one walker did just fine with her as has our new walker. So I feel confident that this poor review is accurate.
I wrote 2 pages of notes and instructions. Mostly things like how to greet her, giving her lunch, getting her to play and run in the yard if walking is still too difficult (she’s being leash trained but is not great yet) while also providing treats, poop bags, harness (which only 1 person managed to get on her) leash and a tip tucked into my note. The first girl Jackie was a disaster. Not only did she disrupt my day at work, she traumatized my dog and me. I was spoon feeding her text after text trying to be patient but getting really frustrated since I can’t be on my phone at work. Everything from instructing her to read my note that I left in plain sight upon opening my door, which she did not do on her own, to how to greet a frightened puppy, to how to move the crate first and then the puppy inside. Those are simple tasks that she was not able to do without my instruction. After reading my note and following my texts she managed but it was painful and frankly I don’t know how she survives in life with zero problem solving skills and an inability to read and comprehend what she read. The second walker I had was great, she read my note, although I had texted her a heads up. But she didn’t seem to have any issues. I hope for her sake she quits Wag and does her own thing. The third walker was not bad but not good either! He was very nice and better with my dog. However, he was late and couldn’t find my place which is not hard if you can identify the letter “A”. He also couldn’t work the harness. He read my notes because I texted him to make sure he did, but again, reading comprehension seems to be an issue. He did not actually execute the things I’d written out and because of that, she spent about 4 hours outside in the cold and rain, scared. The final walker Tara was my final experience. She did not read my note and subsequently didn’t get her tip, which I am very happy about. She did however leave her chewed gum on my kitchen counter. Disgusting. Ultimately, I’m leaving a bad review because this service did not alleviate my stress and it took more time in my work day then it should have, I could have come all the way home to do it myself and saved myself a lot of money, time, and frustration.

Great walkers/bad customer service
I love, love love my walker Emily. She goes above and beyond and is the sweetest individual. However, wag!s customer service is terrible. I still have not received a wag lock box despite several calls and texts and promises the problem would be addressed. I'm fortunate because I have Emily for now but god forbid I ever book a terrible walker. There is no where to go to if you have a problem - you hit a dead end. It's unfortunate because I love my current walker but will probably switch services in the future. EDIT: they asked for my information so here it is - Samantha E. Torres
email to account is robbinss25666@ live.bucks.edu
but I still probably wont be sent the lock box.........
