Although the service in the beginning started out promising. I purchased 200 walks for $170.00 on my credit card but Wag continued to charge my card for each ndividual walk never using my credits. After much communication with Customer Support I was told to email there finance department directly with screenshots of the charges from my account. I did what I was supposed to and sent this directly to finance they said that they couldn't find a charge for $170. Now remember I did speak to customer service and they could clearly see that there was the charge they could not understand why it was individually charged on my account once again asking me to go forward and directly communicate with Finance we are now a month into this with no outcome the best thing I did was put it on my credit card I've now filed a dispute. Although wag can be a wonderful service to introduce you to a good dog walker and take care of your pup I would highly recommend not to purchase wag walks in advance.

Update from previous review
Update, I was told I would not be able to be REIMBURSED for my out of pocket expenses because I refused to sign a "settlement agreement" specifically lining out that I would not be allowed to talk about my experience with wag and would have to take down any reviews regarding the company. I refuse to sign it because I would not want anyone out there having the same experience as I did, clearly the company doesn't care about the wellbeing of pets
I was also charged for walks that were canceled given the incident

I usually walk my dog myself
I usually walk my dog myself, or my parents do, but it just so happened that I was sick, and did not have anyone around to help. My dog was super energetic, so I thought I would give Wag a try. I sent a request for a walk, and received a message back saying that it took an average of 10 minutes to confirm a walker. I received text messages approximately every 15-20 minutes afterward, saying they were still looking for a walker. TWO HOURS later, I received a brief message stating that there were no walkers in my area. So why did you make me wait two hours? I could have been looking for an alternative person to take my dog for a walk. They charge a $10 cancellation fee if it is within 24 hours, but they take no responsibility for offering a service they cannot provide. Will never try to use them again.

Do not trust this company with your pet!!
Please do not trust this company with your pet! I will not be using them any more. My poor dog has had to suffer multiple times because of their unreliability. Today, for example, they canceled my scheduled walk and said nothing to me- no communication whatsoever, through the app, a call, a text, an email- nothing! I then had to wait half an hour to speak to someone on their customer service line for "time sensitive" issues. And no one answers the text contact. Last time something similar happened, when I finally got a text response, they made excuses and said they can't guarantee anything instead of apologizing. But really the biggest issue is that you cannot count on them actually letting your pet out when you schedule a walk! Poor doggies! :-(

If you can please email our Customer Care team and I directly at [email protected], this is something we would like to look into right away.

Absolutely the most unreliable dog…
Absolutely the most unreliable dog walking service out there. Walker was a no show. I am recovering from spine surgery and home bound. The walker only gave notice of no show when there was 4 minutes left on their 30 minute window. You cannot reach a live customer service representative, only get voice mail. Go Rover.com. Have used numerous walkers from Rover and never had any issues.

Hi Judi,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We always want to ensure that your pup is properly taken care of on time. I sincerely apologize that this walker gave last minute notice as this is something we take very seriously. We were able to find a backup walker to send over to your pup right away. If you do choose to use the service in the future I would be happy to assist in pairing you personally with a great walker in your area so this does not occur again. You can reach the Customer Care team and I directly at [email protected].

Wag: Grossly Incompetent or Unfair Business Practices?
I have been using Wag since January 2018. There were a few hiccups but I figured it was worth it for the peace of mind that my dog is getting enough exercise. I liked the text updates, the GPS tracking, the puns, and that it's super flexible.
So why the one star review. TL;DR: catch walker rifling through the kitchen cabinets; I file a complaint; customer service makes things worse; refund is nowhere to be found; my account has been disabled; I’m upset enough to write this review.
To be completely fair, I still need to follow up with them formally. Other than panicked text messages to their customer service line about my account, I have not been in touch with them directly about the latest issue that for me was the last straw. From their perspective it may well be that everything is all set, and I do believe that this will eventually be resolved.
But, just in case, I want to share my experience leading up to this point in case it helps someone else not get jerked around by Wag. Regardless of when and how it finally gets resolved, I can only say that Wag! is either absurdly incompetent or their business practices are suspect. For me, the outcome is the same: I've wasted hours on this, my roommate won't stop making jokes about the "cookie caper of 2018", and I'm out a couple hundred dollars.
The full story:
I requested a walk for "ASAP" on Wednesday March 14th. James, a walker I hadn’t used before, gets assigned. He takes my dog on an hour-long walk. When they get back, he probably doesn’t realize that my roommate is now home. Roommate thinks she hears the fridge open and gets concerned. As she walks down the hallway towards the kitchen, she can hear cabinets opening and closing. She walks into the kitchen to find James hustling on back to the living room munching on one of her cookies, which were stored in the upper cabinet next to the fridge. He leaves really quickly and she’s just kind of like ???
Luckily she’s gracious enough to laugh off the cookie, just requests that I don’t use James again as a walker. I let her know I can block him and contact customer service. Juvenilely, when the customer service rep gives zero cares about this I start caring quite a lot. Come on, isn’t it at least a little bit concerning that this guy was going through our cabinets?
I get connected to a supervisor, Victoria, who’s actually really helpful. She assures me that a report has been filed and they would investigate. At her request, I provide screenshots of James' report card of my dog and the texts from my roommate; Roommate also follows up (again at Victoria's request) with a written account of what she experienced. At this point, I’m completely reassured. Victoria has taken the issue very seriously—I almost feel bad, it’s just a cookie, right? In addition to filing a report, Victoria also assures me that the app is now configured so that only preferred walkers would be selected, and if none are available someone would be in touch with me. Awesome, problem solved.
The next day, the app selects a non-preferred walker and no one follows up with me. I contact customer service. Over the course of the day, I text with Cait, Lauren, Jackie, and Tom at the same customer service number. There’d be a long delay in a reply and then another rep would take over the conversation, but have to start over because they have no record of my conversation with the previous one. After initiating, they’d leave me on read for awhile so they could “pull up my account” but then still have no idea what I was talking about.
So, I'm done with Wag at this point, it’s honestly not worth all this. Then on Sunday March 18th, Kira from customer trust or whatever department contacts me. She is investigating my complaint. She explains that in fact James was merely looking for cleaning supplies after my dog had an accident.
My dog had an accident, after an hour-long walk? James decides that we most likely keep our cleaning supplies in an upper cabinet rather than under the sink? He starts with the fridge instead? James doesn't think to grab any paper towels? Roommate comes out, and it's not worth a mention? Hey, be careful where you step also where are your cleaning supplies? No note in the report card about it?
I ask these questions, and it kind of seems like Kira had not really given this much consideration. Ok, I’m sick of this whole thing, how did I even let it spiral to this point? I don’t want to use their service again and ask if I can be refunded my unused credits. She says absolutely and follows up via text to confirm that she’s contacted finance directly, we’re all set.
Five days go by, to today. I haven’t heard anything, but to be fair I haven’t followed up with the finance team. I honestly wasn't that concerned, I just assumed it would take the usual 7-10 business days and I got distracted by other things.
However, I attempted to log in to my account today and it appears to have been disabled. I cannot believe it. This has been a complete disaster from start to finish. I’m a little bit suspicious—how is it even possible that this much as gone wrong?? Wag is so bad at everything.
I can no longer access the records of the walks or my current balance. Not a single member of the customer service team, other than Victoria who took the original complaint and Kira who "investigated", has had any idea of what I'm talking about, even after they "pull up my account". I'm deeply suspicious. Was any of this actually documented? Do they have any intention of actually following up on their promises? Will we ever know how many people James has casually stolen baked goods from? Have I been intentionally locked out of my account to conceal evidence?
Find out next week on....

Bad customer service, unauthorized charges!!
I gave Wag several chances after a few miscommunications regarding schedule changes. Preferred walker scheduled, but not available? No biggie. But then came the frequent customer service phone number changes, the difficulty to reach reps, walks occurring when I didn’t schedule them, 30 min walks when I wanted 20- I became very distrustful of my requests actually being met. The catalyst that caused me to cancel was getting a notification that my walk had started and the map populated - except I was home and my dog was right next to me. Customer service blamed it on the app and assured me my walks were canceled. Fast forward a week- I get a notification that a walker is on the way! I contact CS and tell them I did not authorize this- the SAME CS rep who canceled my walks said he never got the text that blatantly said “cancel my service immediately.” They assure me AGAIN that my service is canceled. The VERY next day one of the wag walkers (very sweet girl) contacted me saying she was running late for our scheduled walk! Customer service blamed it on “a glitch.” I went back thru my bank statement and saw MULTIPLE unauthorized charges on days I didn’t even schedule a walk! Shady company, horrible customer service. It’s been a 2 month battle with them and although they assure me every request I’ve made has been met every single time I find out later that there was a “glitch” or “misunderstanding.” I literally NEVER am the type to complain about companies bc I work in customer service and “get it.” But this is unacceptable and I’ve told all my friends and family to beware!!
