Not really a service when you book something, are notified it is confirmed, but then it is cancelled without any notification whatsoever. Unreliable, untrustworthy, and not a lick of accountability. If caregivers are allowed to cancel last minute and no notification is provided to the requester, then you don’t really have a service. You’ll always need a backup ready at a moments notice in case wag cancels, which means there is really no point in booking with them to begin with. Clearly this company was built off of a half baked idea. Don’t waste your time or money on this app, and certainly not your pet’s health and safety.

I have them a one star because someone actually showed up. The walkers show up when they want to. My dog was hurt and the company took no responsibility for it. The dog walkers do not know how to put on harnesses and will not watch your dog. My dog was scratched under her eye and I had to pay a big vet bill. The company never took my claim serious. This is a dangerous company. They do not care about the well being of your pet. I warn you, do not use.

My dog was attacked and later died from a pit Bull mix that was being walked by a wag walker that didn’t follow the owners instructions to use a training collar. The walker lost control of the dogs (there were two dogs on the walk) which resulted in the attack. WAG claims they can’t give me any information on the owner or walker because of privacy clauses. So not only have I lost my beloved dog Daisy but am taking on a $4,000 ER debt that none of the responsible parties (WAG, the walker or the owner) will take responsible for. Please note that WAG is not responsible (per my wag representative ). It is all on the walker and they will not release the walkers name or phone number or insurance for me to claim my expenses

I applied to work for wag had to wait 2 months to pass my background check they finally send me my green shirt where I can start taking jobs I work for them for over 3 months and only had one job and the lady canceled before I got there I now have received an email telling me that they have found something on my background report from over 10 years ago and they're telling me that they're thinking about pursuing some sort of action I don't know exactly what they think they're going to pursue and what action they think they're going to take they're the ones that hired me they're the ones that made me pay for a background check that they obviously didn't look at that's not my fault wags sucks it's all just a big scam unless you live in downtown Atlanta downtown New York City or somewhere like that it's not even worth downloading the app if you try to get someone to walk your dog in an area like where we live you could wait for months

I booked a pet sitter to spend the day with my dog yesterday while I was out of town. Before I boarded my flight, I confirmed that my request was accepted and that a caregiver would be on the way. Wag then sent me a text 5 HOURS after the caregiver was supposed to arrive stating that the caregiver canceled and no one was coming. They didn't attempt to find another caregiver or even send a walker to at least take my dog out or NOTIFY ME TIMELY so that I could find someone else to accommodate my dog. This resulted in my dog having to wait HOURS longer than necessary to be let out for his morning walk. This is completely unacceptable from a company that is supposed to be catering to pets and helping us pet parents take care of them. ONE STAR!!! Do not recommend. You need to do a lot better!

It’s startling that while looking through all the reviews here, Wag! only answers the good reviews or the Pet Parents. But answers none of the concerns on the Pet Caregiver side. I completed a 30 minute walk for 2 dogs and never received payment. I have asked customer support to call me multiple times to discuss, but no one cares to call. It takes hours for them to reply to each email or text message, and often have to double or triple message them to get a response. They claimed to be looking into my issue but why are they allowing Pet Parents to receive walks and not pay the Caregiver? And then take limitless amount of time to look into the issue? How is it acceptable that when asked to call the pet parent to resolve the payment issue in case it’s their credit card, they just say they “could not contact the pet parent.” And that’s it! They said they have sent my issue to the finance team to manually process the payment but this doesn’t seem promising. There are SO MANY issues with the app and customer service….I enjoy walking dogs and caring well for animals but this app needs to rapidly get their customer support including phone support together. Edit on February 13, 2023: I reached out to Wag per their comment below (but about a different issue, a pet parent PETER K, dogs Oscar and Ted, was mad that I didn’t perform an off app walk and gave me a terrible review, claimed that I canceled his walk which is obviously fake because you can’t review a canceled walk! Went on to also maliciously accuse me of being unprofessional and unreliable) and they referred me to use the app and refuse to help with false and tarnishing reviews from pet parents. Literally the worst support team for a company I have encountered….

I never accepted a booking but was threatened with a charge on my card for cancellation. How can I cancel soyi never agreed to in the first place. Last time for me. Totally deceptive practice

I usually don’t do reviews because I could care less for the most part, but it’s concerning my dogs and other dogs, so I will make one. I did not receive any sympathy in return when I was losing my mind over the situation. Therefore, a review will be left in warning for others. I’ve used Wag! every time I have went on a trip. I haven’t had any issues until this previous week. I’m shocked to say the least. I have two senior Pitbulls, whom are very laid back, but they’re senior and Pitbulls with skin allergies. Common. I arranged for a sitting. Not a brief drop-in. A sitting! I told the young lady she did not have to stay the night but I would like for her there until it is bedtime. They’re older and I’m just nervous. I would pay for all night sitting though. Just as long as she was there the other 15 or so hours. I’m paying someone to do an easy job and not expecting much but to make sure my dogs go outside 3 or 4 times a day so I don’t see the issue. It was a sitting I was paying for. Not the a brief drop-in remind you. Well, she came and she went quickly. I have a camera but it doesn’t record unless I have it record so I saw her enter and then checked back to her gone. She let me know she had somewhere else to go and I said that’s fine. You have the option to choose and I chose I didn’t want them alone for at least over 4 hours. She was gone for 8. She didn’t come back to let them back outside until I asked where she was. She then proceeded to get an attitude with me that I could cancel and she didn’t care what I did. I’m out of the country and she had my house key. I was very uncomfortable at this moment. I reminded her it wasn’t the time and she quickly changed her tone. I assume because they can read the conversations she remembered. She told me she had other jobs and it wasn’t like she wasn’t coming to take them back outside?? I’m paying for a sitting. Not a brief in visit. At this point I’m uncomfortable and she’s giving every excuse in the book. I cancelled the sitting. I just wanted her away from my place. I contacted customer service as I was being charged for the entire night even though she left. I was against this. I asked them to read the conversation. They said she did nothing wrong and was polite even though I clearly asked her in the conversation to not get an attitude about the situation. Not sure what they were reading. They then told me she’s not obligated to stay and my dogs were taken outside and fine. They were taken out twice in 24 hours. I have never let my dogs only use the bathroom twice in 24 hours. I don’t even let them go 8 hours which she did. They are senior dogs. That’s a urinary tract infection just waiting to happen. After getting nowhere with customer service, I paid for her to stay 24 hours even though she took my dogs out twice, got an attitude, and did not stay with them at all. I was very upset I was treated that way. At this point I have no one to watch my dogs and I’m out of the country. From this moment on, I scheduled probably 16 more drop-ins and every caregiver cancelled at the last minute. Every single one. I had to beg neighbors to take my dogs outside and then I had to fly home early to get to my babies. It was a nightmare and my poor dogs. Of course, my male is now urinating blood. I am assuming a urinary tract infection so the vet has me monitoring him. On top of all this, she brought in some sort of diffuser because I guess she has allergies to dogs? So strange to be in a dog business but allergic. It gets better… Beware!!! There’s little dog poop on my balcony. As in when she was coming in to let my dogs outside, she brought in a small dog with her and put the dog on my balcony. Little poop. Not big poop. Nor do I allow my dogs on the balcony to use the bathroom nor would they even do that on concrete. My dogs are very friendly and love bugs but if my dogs would have attacked that dog, we all know the rep the media portrays them as. It would have been their fault. If it was someone else’s dog she was watching because you have the option for dogs to go to the sitters house, that’s even more scary. I’m sure those owners would be upset to know that. It was a very crazy and sad situation. I will never use this service again. They do not care at all about pets. Beware, please. Especially if you are leaving your dogs with sitters. You don’t know where they are taking your fur babies as these caregivers are doing multiple jobs at once and the company allows it.
