HORRIBLE (NON-EXISTENT) CUSTOMER SERVICE
No complaint with Wag walkers - they're great. But the company is TERRIBLE. I made a dumb mistake when attempting to get an *idea* of boarding costs for my two dogs. When I used Wag in the past I would enter my info and then choose from a list of caregivers. I don't recall having an option back then called "caregiver preferences" but it exists now and it defaults to "quick match". Unlike all the other options which have prompts like "select date" and "add pickup" this one is not as obviously something you are meant to select and, unless you drill into it, there is no explanation of what it means. Because it didn't indicate an action "select" or "add" I didn't even notice it. When I'd entered my dates/times and dogs and clicked continue, rather than seeing the expected list of caregivers from which to choose, I got charged. What "quick match" means is that it automatically selects a caregiver and charges you. Ok, yes, I made a mistake but as soon as I realized this happened, I cancelled. I was charged a $179 "service fee" and they do not refund your money - they only give you a credit. I sought help via their chat bot and received the same robotic answer that you will see them post on every bad review on this page. Their customer service is non-existent. There is no phone # to call for help and only chat bots. At a minimum, the app should show you a confirmation that you are about to be charged and details about what happens once you're charged - i.e., cancellation fee and no refund. If it's going to default the match type, it should default to the option that does *not* automatically charge you and lets you pick your caregiver. I accept blame for not understanding the prompt but that mistake should not have cost me $415.
