Until recently, I had been using wag for nearly 5 years. A dog walker had jammed my lockbox combination, preventing me from accessing my door key. When I contacted the non-existent customer support, I was promised four times that someone from their compliance team will contact me. No one has contacted me after more than a month. I had to call a locksmith to cut the lockbox and change my door lock since I couldn't get into the box to see if my door key was still inside. I will NEVER EVER EVER use Wag again! I was quite disappointed in their lack of safety and security for my well-being, as well as their lack of customer service for a huge corporation. Be wary of their "vetting" process as well. Some dog walkers are said to have a criminal background. Service is POOR to the tenth power!! I recommend that you choose someone from your neighborhood's Nextdoor or Thumbtack app.

Will never use again. This company does not take any responsibility for anyone who is on their app. I boarded my dogs for the weekend due to an emergency trip I had to take. We requested the person boarding our dogs to send us photos an updates while we were gone. We did not receive either. On top of that we did not hear from the person watching our animals for over 24 hrs. We called texted and no response, so we called Wag customer service and they could not be more worthless. They tried the same calling and texting and could not get ahold of the dog boarder. After threatening to file a police report they upgraded us to their "Critical Team" which they seemed to be able to do nothing but call and text as well, with no response. We were able to get our dogs back after 30hrs of not hearing from our boarder. Wag did an "investigation" if you would like to call it that and said she just fell asleep and was not expecting us home - Must have been one hell of a nap. Since having my dogs back at my house they have gone to the bathroom inside multiple times (this was never an issue before they boarded) leading me to believe they were not even taken outside very much. My recommendation would be if you do not care what happens to your animals use WAG because they do not care either

I was a wag “pet caregiver” (walker) for between 3-4 weeks. During that time I completed 50 services and maintained a 5 star profile. But today I quit. Wag is terrible to work for. There are ABSOLUTELY no HUMAN service representatives. If I have a problem, the only option is to talk to a stupid A.I. Chat bot that is about as useful as a wooden nickel. Wag sucks. The ONLY way to contact a real person is if I use the emergency button. And obviously they are never willing to be helpful after I do that. Saying they treat me like a dog is literally an understatement seeing as how dogs have access to 24 HOUR VET SERVICES THROUGH WAG. I once asked the ONLY human representative I could get on the phone “can I please speak with whoever is my boss or the person overseeing the pet caregivers?” To which I was referred back to the A.I. chat support. The ONLY real people this company has I could talk to work on the emergency line. It’s absolutely ridiculous. What cheapskates. They’re unbelievably incompetent. I’ll be starting walking with Rover later this week : )

I just signed up for VET CHAT! Paid $14.99 to get access and then another $30 to be connected to a licensed vet to help call in a script for my dog. Trying to avoid a huge charge just to be seen by my regular vet. The woman who connected with me was a very nice person who seemed to know what she was doing until she told me her recommendation would be to GO SEE MY VET! I said, not helpful. I can see that taking her to the vet will be what I do tomorrow. Being that it’s in the middle of the night, I am looking for a solution immediately. The woman tells me she is just a vet technician and cannot write any scripts. I said, well what did I just pay $45 for? I told her I demand a refund, she suggested I take it up with WAG! I looked on WAG! site, states that no refunds will ever be given. Has anyone else experienced this utter insanity?!?! I was completely misled! It’s called VET CHAT! Not VET TECHNICIAN CHAT! I just paid $45 to be told to take my dog to the vet??? Do not spend your money! This is a huge scam. I took screenshots of the entire conversation. 0 stars!!!!

They make people pay to be on this site and then take 40% from the people walking/sitting. That’s ridiculous! Rover doesn’t charge people to use their site and only takes 20% of earnings.

I requested boarding services on the Wag! website. I did not have app downloaded on my phone at the time and was never notified that this was a requirement. As of 2 days prior to my vacation, I had no communication from Wag! other than a text that they may not be able to find a boarder for med. Therefore, an alternate boarder was found elsewhere. Less than 24 hours prior to requested start date, Wag! sent text notification that caregiver assigned and trying to contact me through app. A few hours later, another text notified me that they cancelled services, but I was still charged $463.39 for boarding that never happened because the services were cancelled by THEM 24 hours prior. Of course, I would never agree to this price to begin with and would have cancelled within the timeframe for a full refund if I had known. Wag! was contacted and refunded only $185.35 even though they knew that I had not received the communication from the caregiver and no knowledge of the assignment. Contrary to claims made by reviews left by unpaid caregivers who actually perform a service, Wag! claimed to pay the caregiver assigned to me even though no service was provided, and no communication had been received from me. Apparently, they assign a caregiver without the pet owner being allowed to personally communicate with the caregiver or knowing the total costs to ensure a good fit. I will never use this service again and would never recommend this service. I am sure that some have had good experiences but so much could go wrong for pets and pet owners when you are expected to just hand over your pet to just anyone and pay whatever price they choose. Who wouldn't want to get to know and have the opportunity to discuss your pet with the person who you are entrusting them with. These practices should be illegal. Such a shame because this has the potential to be a great resource for pet owners.

What wag takes from the dog walker or cat sitter it’s not very clear you don’t really know what you’re going to get paid till you accept Most walks are last minute not really liking it not liking the pricing policy is not clear

Created an account JUST TO LEAVE A REFERENCE because I was told I HAD to just to leave the reference. I was charged $10 F’ing dollars to leave a reference to help THEIR employee!!!!! Customer service is NON existent….was told the charge was NON refundable!!! Will be reporting to the BBB!!!!!
