The caregiver stayed at my house for four hours at a time, eating my food and using my dishes (I came home to a pile of dirty dishes in my sink), the worst was when she locked herself and my dogs out of the house, which cost my neighbors $189.00. On top of inflated Wag! Fees. It’s impossible to contact a live human to even discuss these challenges, much less resolve them.

I am having the hardest time trying to…cancel my account
I am having the hardest time trying to delete my account with Wag. Their website takes you in circles and prevents you from canceling with things like Ruh-roh something went wrong please try back again later or your identity can not be verified. Their phone number is just a recording that leads you back to their website. now I have emailed them and hope to get a response that way. I was never connected to a dog walker so the whole thing has been a waste of time.

I wish I could give them a negative…
I wish I could give them a negative review. They automatically booked an appointment without my consent and then charged me to cancel the booking which I never made.
I NEVER BOOKED THE RESERVATION; it was done automatically by Wag. I already explained this 3x. But here I go again….
1. I downloaded the app. It’s my first time using Wag. I entered that I was looking for a pet sitter for certain dates.
2. I got back ONE match from Wag. She charged nearly $300 for 2 days. That’s way more than the rates on Rover , so I did NOTHING!!! I didn’t contact her, I didn’t book it. I closed the app and didn’t respond. Instead I focused on Rover which provided many more possible sitters.
3. Yesterday at 10:10 am CST, I got this text. “ Time is running out! You have 60 minutes to select a Pet Caregiver for your upcoming boarding before being auto-matched.” I did not see the text as I was away from my phone.
4. An hour later I got a message saying the dog sitter was BOOKED. WTH?!?!?! How the heck can a company book something automatically WITHOUT customer consent? I wasn’t even in the app when the appointment was booked.
5. I tried calling customer service which was a complete joke. It just refers you to online. Online is an even bigger joke. I entered “what to do when an appointment is automatically booked” and I got a response that Wag doesn’t do that. Liars!!!!!! That’s exactly what they did to me.
6. Luckily I saw that it was booked automatically by Wag and cancelled it only to learn that I will be charged $66.50 for a cancellation fee for something I NEVER BOOKED IN THE FIRST PLACE.
The charges still haven’t been reversed after numerous emails to customer service…email because there isn’t a way to talk to a human via phone.
This is the absolute worst app I have ever used. It’s unethical. They can’t get business through reputable means, so they resort to to cheating customers by automatically booking appointments without their knowledge. Horrible!!!!!

Wag is a very deceitful company
Wag is a very deceitful company. They charged me a fee when I never confirmed a pet sitting with them. A pet sitter showed up to my house without my permission and without ever contacting me or meeting me. They charged me and refused to credit me telling me I failed to cancel when I never even knew I had booked with them.

AWFUL FRAUDULENT COMPANY
AWFUL! Their app automatically charges you after 24 hours if you put out a search for boarding and NOWHERE DID IT STATE THAT. When you tell them you did not authorize this and want to cancel, they charge a cancellation fee!! What kind of a company is this!!?

Wag support needs more help than I do.
Wag support needs more help than I do.
Can't look at a linked video. Can't open a .zip file. Can't make their app work.

My experience as a Caregiver
I'm a caregiver with Wag! and I'm writing this both for others to understand what they're signing up for and in the hope that maybe somebody from Wag! will see it and work to make a difference.
To start, the concept behind the platform is great, but the execution is very poor. The types of services that you can provide through the app are very limited. They had an option for caregivers to provide additional services like grooming, training, pet photography, and even home care. These were removed with no messages or notifications for the caregivers. I only found out because I went to adjust my prices for the services I offered only to find that I couldn't. Thinking it was a bug, I went through hell trying to get in touch with an actual support team member, who didn't have an answer for me and passed me off to another person that still couldn't give me all the answers to the questions I had. I was simply told that the services were removed (but I could still see them on my profile) and that if I wanted to offer them to my clients then I could ask for payment in the form of a tip (which is ridiculous and leaves caregivers open to being scammed).
Since I could still see these removed services and the old prices listed on my profile, I asked multiple times if my clients could see them too. I was told no. I went on the pet owner app and set up a mock service, requested it through the caregiver app, and viewed my profile from the perspective of a pet owner. Those deleted services along with the old prices were all still listed on my profile, so I had to fight for an answer to a simple question only to be given false information.
It's hard enough trying to get in touch with support at all, because they seem to do everything they can to not have to talk to their app users. They have a horribly trained chat bot that can almost never give you an answer to your question, and will default to just sending you a link to some article that shares the same key words with whatever your question was about. You have to re-word your question multiple times just to finally be given the option to send a message to the support team. The only alternatives are sending an email to their no-response support email, or submitting a bug report which you won't get the time of day out of.
I've been dealing with the same bug for nearly a month now and have submitted THREE bug reports begging for help. You don't even get a confirmation email saying that they received your report, and you certainly can't expect that they'll contact you about your issue. Bug reports are seemingly useless through the app, which is incredibly disappointing because this app is extremely glitchy and full of bugs.
As a caregiver I would also like to add that, from my experience, there is no way to cancel a booking quickly for non-emergency issues (i'm talking your house is on fire kind of emergency). If you do need to cancel a service it negatively affects your rating as a caregiver.
I'm extremely hesitant to accept dog walks now due to my most recent walk, where I had to message the owner multiple times asking for the access code and was waiting in my car for almost 30 minutes past the scheduled walk time (I showed up 15 minutes early to be safe, so I was sitting there waiting on a response for nearly an hour). The event took far longer than what was planned due to this, and I had no way to cancel without putting a negative mark on my own profile. My only option was to try and contact support, which as I already explained is very difficult and it would likely have taken hours to even get a response.
Overall, Wag! needs work to improve on a lot of issues. I genuinely love the concept of the platform, but my experience has been poor at best. I'm constantly fighting with the app and I've had to reach out asking for help more often than I should be only to be dismissed, lied to, and given disappointing results. I can confidently say that it does not feel like the Wag! team supports or cares about its users, especially not the Caregivers.
If you're looking for somebody to help care for your pet, I would recommend using a different platform or looking for a private caregiver. If you're looking to work as a pet caregiver, I would also recommend using another platform or branching out as a private caregiver. Until Wag! fixes the issues with their app and improves their customer service and support, I cannot recommend them in good faith.

I put in a boarding request and the…
I put in a boarding request and the only price I could see was an additional tip I chose. I figured I’d be given a total cost when someone accepted my request that I could then approve but it just automatically charged my card almost $400. When I went to cancel within minutes of this, I was charged an $87 cancellation fee. Ridiculous.
