Honestly the worst company ever. It’s gone completely downhill. No customer service at all, all robotic responses. I had used it for 6+ years and not needed any customer service. Recently, I had an emergency situation while on a walk and the emergency button took me to an automated message on the phone telling me to email them?! What? How incredibly unsafe. They emailed me saying the phone lines work and I should’ve called. I messaged them via text, messaged on the app, called the emergency line AND messaged via Instagram and could not get any assistance on this emergency situation. How scary to be a dog walker OR dog owner using this service. I’ve switched to Rover and much prefer it!

Completely unsafe and low ethics company. Provides no forms of customer support. Gives you a chat bot that just regurgitates general information and a phone number that repeats a message telling you to use their chats. Does not care about its caregivers at all, and does nothing to help them. On top of that they hide negative comments about a dog, keep aggressive and dangerous dogs on the app, and pawn them off to new unsuspecting caregivers. They also take ridiculous fees, 40% is criminal and neither caregivers or pet owners know how much they’re actually taking. There is zero transparency with this company and they are glorified scammers, harming real people with honest intentions of taking up side jobs to support their livelihoods.

Wag! takes complete advantage of their dog walkers/sitters. On my first dog sitting job the client complained about app glitches, which I now know is a big problem for everyone that uses the app. Right after I signed up, on the first day after my background check was complete, I requested 4 jobs and got all 4. I then had a problem with the app with a drop-in job on the last day of that job. I was able to mark that I had arrived but when I tried to click to start the job the app wouldn’t let me click that I was starting. I closed out the app, turned my phone off and on and everything else I could think of. I notified Wag of the problem but they didn’t get back to me until the next day and they said I needed a picture of the dog to prove I was there. I hadn’t taken a picture of the dog because the app was frozen and I wouldn’t have been able to add the picture (the app finally unfroze after 4 days). Every time I email them, which is a few times a week, they repeatedly say they’re still trying to contact the pet parent. Wag takes 40% from the pet caregiver/dog walker. 20 minute walks are charged at a rate of $9.90 minus 40%, means the dog walker gets $5.90, a one hour drop in visit is about $25. The caregiver gets $15. Now that I’ve complained about not being paid I am not getting any of the jobs I’ve requested. Two were even for past clients. I have a 5 star rating but have not gotten any of the past 7 requests. 5 star rating, got my first 4 jobs when I had no rating but suddenly I don’t get the last 7 requests, even from two previous clients that gave me 5 star ratings? Sound right to you? I even had another past client request me but their request was not accessible to me, even though I could see it in my notifications on my phone. I’ve been told by others that if a dog has bitten a caregiver they do not remove that client from the app. Apparently Wag doesn’t care if their caregivers get bit and they don’t pay caregivers when their app is at fault. I couldn’t start the job in the app and they don’t pay me even though I was in no way at fault. How is that even legal? Save yourself and avoid Wag unless you want to be constantly annoyed and ripped off.

Is there a way to actually speak to a person these days? My questions do not fall in to the square box. I have wasted 30 minutes in a constant loop on their app and website. When will companies realize EVERYTHING cannot be automated!

Walker stopped the walk 1/2 through because our puppy was jumping and grabbing his leash. She said he was being aggressive and that she had to ‘draw the line.’ He has never been aggressive; he is an active puppy who is still learning. Instead of working with him and using the training treats and chew bone I left for her in a pouch, she got out her phone and videoed his (normal puppy) behavior. She then returned home to his crate, took a toy out and placed it on top of his crate, and did not leave him the challenge toy I had prepared for him. This cruel decision left him without a toy to play with for 4.5 hours, and a toy he loves right on top of him, but out of reach. Incompetent, poor judgment, cruel.

Not happy about this at all. This is a business model that pits the dogwalkers against each other. The downside here is that in a competitive field most of the people competing lose. it cost me $35 to apply, and then they won't refund this after I understood the business model, they claim it was in the fine print as non-refundable for the background check, so they take advantage of you and take your money without any certainty of work to begin with. Then it is next to impossible to talk with a human. The chatbot doesn't understand you when you ask for a refund, nor when you ask for a human to speak with. The customer service number is a recording that hangs up on you after pointing you to the support section which is where the chatbot is. And then they use a third party billing system called vetty, and so you don't know if you are speaking with Wag Walking or who you should go to for an answer to your problem. THEY NEED TO POST UPFRONT IN THE BILLING THAT THIS IS NON-REFUNDABLE CHARGE AND NOT BURY IT SO YOU GET SCAMMED. Thank you, no thank you. I can't recommend this way of treating customers. This has a mean spirited approach, whether intentional or not, to those of you that want to use this service. And I paid thirty five dollars just to advise all of you that read this.

Zero stars if possible. I’m trying to find a boarding for my dog yesterday. The search took forever so I moved on. It says I won’t get charge until I know how much is the fee and I have to approve it. Today they auto-matched me with someone and charged my credit card over $1000 without my knowledge. I did not approved that. They are asking me to pay $99 to cancel that appointment they set without my knowledge. Trying to get help from the app but it’s only text bot and they just ask for my info and no way to contact them.
