Do NOT buy into their accident insurance, and the only reason I got them was due to my employer. My accident insurance policy has been on hold for over two weeks. I sent in the hospital summary and notes, my orthopedic surgeon’s notes with X-rays, as well as my primary care physician’s notes and referral. Voya’s portal shows a completion date of May 8th, but now it’s May 12th and my claim is still processing. The documents I submitted were more than what they requested, and there’s no resolution provided for me. I’m broken up and cannot get paid on a policy I’ve paid for. My next step is a complaint on BBB. This is horrible, and Aflac here I come. My hospital indemnity plan paid out in 2016 after 7 or 8 days. Voya Financial needs to do better. Oh, Jenny the escalation manager promised to call me back a day ago. Crickets!!!

I am a teacher and have a 403b through them. Trying to take a loan against my 403b is a nightmare. Some of that is not their fault as we have to use a 3rd party administrator. However, their website must be created and arranged by people who hate people. It is a nightmare to navigate and it is some kind of scavenger hunt to find the forms you need. They do not communicate with their customers, either. My initial loan application was approved by 3rd party admin, but was denied by Voya because the 3rd party admin form required my home address and not my mailing. I only found this out after waiting for a week and hearing nothing from Voya. I called and when I finally got a representative, they told me I would have to start the process over as my loan was in process of being denied due to my address on Voya being different from the 3rd party admin form. It's been a week since that call and I still have not received any information from Voya through mail, email, text, or on their site, including their communication tab. I would not recommend this company.

Horrible, horrible experience! Tried to withdraw some funds and was pushed around for weeks. Tried to get my funds expedited and then they stated it would have to be cancelled and re-processed, taking another few weeks to even process that. Freaking joke!

This company is the WORST Company EVER!! I called this past Tuesday morning between 8:15am-8:30am to pullout money thinking if I call early they would process my withdrawal that day. To pay $50 dollars to expedite through UPS and the turnaround is 3-5 business days IS RIDICULOUS!!. Then when I called back the next day Wednesday that’s when I found out they processed my request the following day so your telling me what sense did it make to call early Tuesday morning when they just opened up to find out it didn’t get processed until the next business day. Looking into withdrawing all my money and move it to another company.

ESOP calls I made to Voya I would ask the same questions and would get different answers. I requested to speak to a supervisor and every time I got there were "none available at this time". I requested a call back from a supervisor and I only received 1 call back and that was 4 weeks, and since no call backs. I thought we were the client and answers from customer service should be able to answer, I get no real answer and all. Maybe a can answer or even and excuse. I had requested my funds to be deposited with a wire transfer, this bring up another issue I submitted my paperwork on March 13, 2026. As of May 1, 2026, my funds were being sent by check not as I requested. On April 27, 2026, Voya supposedly tried a wire transfer, but there was a system error. I call May 1, 2026, found out it was processed by check. Great horrible customer service both by Voya and supervisors for not responding in a timely manner, and never a straight answer.

If I could give a negative star I would. I recommend anyone and any company stay free and clear of this company. As many of the other reviewers have stated they are good at taking your money but can’t seem to transfer it back to you. Absolute worst experience to the point it feels like a scam. They come up with a new excuse every time I speak with them. I am almost to the point that I should get a lawyer involved because they can’t seem to transfer my money to my account. It isn’t this hard. Avoid them at all costs.

they charge expedited service fee for withdrawal but the expedited service takes longer than direct deposit. Be careful when selecting expedited it comes in the form of a paper check and can take up to 7 days to receive. the fee is simply to get your money. it does not explain the process clearly when selected. Neither customer service or a supervisor will assist you nor refund you.

My old company had Voya. I put in my first payment of $100 and left that company a few weeks later for a better position. By the time I left that company my Voya account has $117 and some change in it. I reached out to have my money sent back to me. I received a check for $7 and some change. Apparently they charge you $110 to send you your money! That was never mentioned by any of the representatives I spoke with and was told I would be getting that check sent out to me of $117. Absolutely ridiculous. Essentially they stole $100 of my hard earned money. This company is a scam and wouldn't recommend them handling your 401K.
