Vons is always grossly overpriced, but the delivery option is extremely time saving.However, whenever my groceries are delivered from Vons at 931 Lomas Santa Fe Drive, Solana Beach, CA92075, there is a high risk that products are either expired, and or been opened by store staff. This Sunday, I received a can of hot chocolate powder. The container had clearly been opened, and this was visible through the clear plastic top. This store has a reputation of pilfering and in store theft. The store then sells the opened grocery items and other products to customers. This extends to icecream (personal experience), and soap powder for clothes (personal experience). Many customers won't notice and pay for a full item that has been opened, and used. This is a disgusting practice. Think of the filthy hands and mouths taking items eating or using part of your grocery products. This store has extremely poor management. I contacted Vons who immediately refunded the item, but the other items could also have been tampered with. Do not shop at this store. Do not have your items delivered from this store. When I called to speak to the store manager today, a woman called Sheety (very apt name),responded and shouted at me. She refused to give me an email address for the store manager called Jessica. Apparently she works from 6 am to 12 Noon,hence only part time. I don't know where they find these people, but the attitude of this Sheety woman explains a lot about the store. I don't know if there is a local under privileged area that they hire from, but the store should be closed down. 28 August - 2026 - after escalation to regional management, I received a call from Jessica, the store manager. She was extremely professional and will be taking steps to investigate what happened. I found this reassuring, but these problems are of long standing at this store. I recommend not purchasing from the store, to avoid problems.

Vons in Tarzana on Ventura Blvd. This shopping center has become one of the most poorly maintained properties in Tarzana. The entire plaza is neglected — dirty, badly landscaped, and increasingly unsafe. VON’S MAKES NO EFFORT AND CARES NOTHING FOR OUR COMMUNITY. It’s overrun with homeless individuals who camp in the parking lot and around the storefronts, creating an environment that feels genuinely dangerous for shoppers. Many people in the neighborhood, myself included, now avoid this center entirely. Friends and neighbors tell me they refuse to shop at Vons, CVS, or any of the other stores here because the conditions have gotten so bad. Everyone chooses cleaner, safer, better‑kept alternatives elsewhere. It’s disappointing to see a major community shopping center decline this severely. The Vons CVS and the property owners need to step up, invest in maintenance, improve security, and restore basic cleanliness. Right now, this plaza is an eyesore for Tarzana and a place most residents actively avoid.

Every thing at VONS in LA CRESCENTA, horrible customer services and always overcharged , But what make me more disappointed is that the cashiers over there are always rude it looks like they hate to be there , also I spend every week on my shopping around $ 200 and they charge me $.10 cents per bag if I need extra bags that is completely absurd and ridiculous and not only that I tried to use my husband employee # and she said NO because I put my # and she couldn't do nothing about this time unless that she have to do it all over and it was late so I ended pay it without m husband discount just because she was lazy and didn't want it I seem do it to other people all the time for different reason and she couldn't do it to my transaction ...I will never ever recommend to shop in this VONS , LA CESCENTA I hope I could shop somewhere else

Customer service in the deli / prepared foods at the 410 Manhattan beach location is awful, I went on Sunday afternoon 4 pm and waited 30 minutes for help asked a front desk rep to page after 3 attempts I left, I went back again ( why not sure ) as I approached the counter and said good morning to the employee working she looks up and said Rudely we open at 9 am, I waited came back only to watch her walk away and go talk with the front end employees. I waited 5 minutes and finally another employee asked her to come help when she did again was rude. I am sure the manager James Lorenzana must tolerate her behavior she should be working in receiving or stock and away from customer interaction, I highly recommend not going anywhere near that dept if she is working, of course she wasn’t wearing a name tag but today’s visit was at 9 am on 7/27/26 and she was the only female worker, I am sure this will fall on deaf ears but just wanted to share. Updated today Tuesday 7/28/26 just as I thought zero response from the store leader or main office…thankfully I leave CA tomorrow morning 👍

I was shopping recently at our remodeled, enlarged Von's, which is one of only 2 grocery stores in Ojai. I walked in with a simple shopping list and checked out with practically nothing. One of the items I was unable to find was a package of frozen peas. Von's didn't have a simple bag of frozen peas. They had expensive name brands of peas in sauces and peas in butter but nary a sign of the plain, inexpensive frozen vegetable. There was plenty of space in the frozen case for them, so that was not the issue. This was the first time in my memory that I have had this experience in a grocery store, and I am old enough to remember when frozen food first became available. On this same shopping trip, I was astounded to see steak displayed inside the meat case at $50.00 a pound! I shouldn't have to point out to Von's that this is Ojai, not Beverly Hills. This experience has generated a resolve on my part to buy from Von's only when absolutely necessary, and to plan to shop for most of our groceries at discount grocers, online, and subscription sites whenever possible.

The new Vons in Santa Monica is built in a large urban area. How could they have No handles on their grocery store paper bags? You can't carry your groceries walking. Talk about cutting corners or should I say cutting handles.

Vons continues to overcharge and not honor advertised prices despite having been disciplined by the courts recently for doing this. The app does not work and they do not actually take off the "coupons" that you spend time and effort to clip. They also do not honor their own in store promos (ie: Mix and match)

Von’s in Lyons in Newhall severely needed management intervention. Usually, all carts are in the parking lot and aside from the aisles being too narrow, employees further create a problem with displays impairing access; checking out is always an issue since they commonly do not have but one lane open, no bag people and overall attitude issues. Lastly, being new to the area, if I must buy a bag, make certain that they sturdy since the handles commonly come loose. Yes, I have a choice of where to shop and it will not be at that location.
