Horrible. Two of their staff members could not recognize the signs of active dying with my Dad. One of them said he was fine and needed no extra care when he was 36 hours from death. The other said he needed only minimal morphine when he was 9 hours from death. My Dad died a needlessly painful and lonely death because the Vitas staff couldn't see what I saw very clearly - and I have no healthcare background whatsoever. Use Cornerstone instead. They have their own issues, but are way better than Vitas.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Vitas for their exceptional care of my daughter. Unfortunately, my daughter Jill passed away peacefully. I would especially like to thank two remarkable nurses who made her transition more comfortable: Donna Hardin from Melbourne, FL, and especially Venise Francime from Palm Bay, FL.

I am very dissatisfaction with the service offered to us. We were suppose to get round the clock care for the first few days to get her better after patients release from hospital. Now Sean they are understaffed and the want me administering nebulizing treatments , morphine and other. I am not a nurse and so neither feel comfortable doing this. I called her team if nurses and doctors no response. Not sure what to do. K Fuller

My loved one was in the Dallas inpatient unit of Vitas Hospice inpatient unit in Dallas, Texas. He just wanted to come home and pass away there. Before we could get him to our home in Fort Worth, the Dallas respiratory therapist attempted to switch out his trach tube and was unsuccessful. The respiratory therapist had to put a endotracheal tube in his neck and he passed away in at the Dallas inpatient unit and never reached our home in Fort Worth as he had wished to do. I am saddened that the respiratory therapist made this attempt and wish he had just left my father alone.

My mother had dementia. I chose vitas as a hospice care myself as a caregiver to my mother, struggle to communicate. With the doctors and nurses on my mother's needs, her bed wounds were so bad.\nNegligence , complete negligence at the end , I know she suffered at the end. Because of their negligenceit was supposed to be a comfortable death, and I was not

My family and I will never forget team 1818- Yadira, Maggie, Alma,Chandra, John and Kim; there were a couple of others but I didnt get their names but even right down to the young man who dropped off and picked up supplies. Who ever does the hiring and putting together teams did wonderful with this group. From start to finish. Professional, communicative, compationate, educated, absolutely wonderful. Even worked hard to make sure our nurse spoke spanish (wonderful Yadira) spoke so soft and you can hear the love in her voice when she spoke to my mother in law. It was a tremendous help, especially in the beginning when my mother i law could understand what was happening with all the extra care. We will miss my mother in law dearly but we thank Vitas for helping her in her last days. Much regards, The Rosalez Family

My 91 year old friend is at assisted living and I picked this hospice service because they work closely with this AL. I am very happy with the care, the communication they give me, and the compassion they show to my friend. She is now in crisis care and has morphine liquid every 6 hrs, and 24/7 caregiver in attendance. I appreciate so much what they are doing for her.

My aide Lynda Pierre and my RNYvrose Pruphete are so he[pful and have taken excellent care of me,They are so genuine about their concern for my well being and comfort.I had no idea that nospice provides such care covered by my insurance.I am so appreciative for the care my RN and Aide give me because I get to stay in my home thanks to these 2 outstanding ladies,They make me feel worthy of there excellent care.They are here through the VITAS program from Hospice.
