Came from out of state to be with and help my brother and his wife after my brother’s dialysis failed and he is facing the end of his life. He has “sporadic” in-home nursing care that stops by to check on him and change dressings associated with his condition which are wounds and sores that cover a substantial portion of both legs. They need daily attention. When they are not here my sister-in-law and myself change the dressings which is fine. The problem is they don’t keep us supplied with the supplies we need to do it daily. They told us we could call if we needed something and it would be delivered the same day. We called on a Saturday (during the day) and they said they would stop by at 10 PM. They were told we would all be sleeping so Sunday morning would be fine. 4:30 Sunday afternoon and no delivery. Called them and we were told they would be coming shortly. Still nothing a few hours later. Another call was made and they showed up at 9:00 PM. So a Saturday daytime call resulted in a 9:00 PM Sunday delivery of supplies we needed to change dressings that morning. People just don’t care anymore.

They are the worst. They basically killed my Mother constantly giving the wrong medications the staff not listening to me about the medications keep telling me that she needs to go to there unit but yet there own nurses said that is not necessary and not to listen to them they only want to maximize the insurance money. Very sad the lack of compassion. Believe me stay away from this horrible company they will hill off whoever they are taking care of.

I have been very pleased with several people that I have been in contact with at Vitas Hospice. My Mom is in Hospice with them. The nurses have been very nice and others that work in the facility. Kimberly Novak has done a super job when she comes and takes care of Mom. Our Hospice experience has been very good.

Our experience with VITAS has been - and continues to be - excellent. The entire staff; the doctor, nurses and caregivers - are very professional and kind with the patient and to us, her family.

Never sent a nurse on time Control sustance give without supervision of the nurse. The medical doctor after she left the hospital go to see her after 3 or 4 days. The doctor on call didn't know the problem of the patient and add medication without evaluation if really patient need increase the dosis of medication.

Vitas was great from day one. Once I had to make the tough decision to put my mother on hospice, Vitas was here on the same day to deliver everything she needed before being discharged from the hospital. Nurse Maria was always genuinely kind, understanding, and caring. Anytime an issue needed to be addressed, I had questions, or her symptoms changed, I was able to get assistance right away. Staff were truly kind and on point throughout the time I cared for my mother. Thank you to everyone at Vitas!

inadequate care. would not respond to leaking catheter. Would not order test for cdif until it was too late. lack of nursing care. alowed sepsis to occur. Our loved one died under their care.

They provided a lot of support across the board. I'd never been through anything like this before and it basically feels like they saved my life. The hospice people seemed to understand my dad's condition much more clearly than most of the people at the hospital(s).
