VIP Petcare Veterinarian LIED!
I took my pug to get a rabies shot at VIP Petcare in West Chester, PA. My husband and I told the girl who checked us in that our other pug was double vaccinated and had a very serious reaction, which entailed an emergency visit to a vet hospital. I said to her, "based on what happened to our other pug, we would never get more than one vaccination at a time." We were there for only the 3-year rabies vaccination (renewal). When we walked up to the exam table, the veterinarian was standing at the table, and the assistant took our pug (male) from my husband's arms. The assistant had a nice hold on our pug on the table. The veterinarian SAID NOTHING TO US. She didn't say Hi, she didn't confirm what vaccination she was about to inject. She said NOTHING. I was standing very close to the table, and close to the vet and assistant (if I reached out, I would touch them). The veterinarian had a needle with brownish liquid in her hand. Just as she was about to inject it, I said to her, "That's the rabies shot, right?" She says, "Yes." She injected the needle. The assistant had a firm hold on our pug. He didn't move. Then the veterinarian says to the assistant, not to me, not to my husband, but says to the assistant, "I put it in the fold, let me get another one." The vet DID NOT say one word to us about what she did, what went wrong, why she was going to inject another rabies vaccination. She said NOTHING to us. The vet walked over to the portable big box where the vaccinations are stored, grabbed the second needle with brown-ish liquid, and injected it. She gave us no explanation. The assistant placed our pug on the floor. My husband took the leash and picked him up. The exam table was dry. The following morning, I called the 800 customer service number at VIP Petcare. I told the story to the customer service rep. She listened, and said, "Would you like me to contact the vet?" I said, "yes." Later in the day, I received an email from the customer service rep stating that she reached out to the vet asking her what happened. The veterinarian LIED. The vet replied, and said "I didn't realize the needle had gone through the skin fold, so the vaccine dribbled on the table. (This is a lie. The vaccine did not dribble on the table.) She then lied again and said that she, "explained it to us and no questions arose while at the clinic." The veterinarian's third lie: "It was not injected into the dog." All bold lies. The veterinarian also refers to my pug as a "she." My pug is a male, who is not neutered, so it's very obvious he is a male, not a female. And this person is a veterinarian!!! The email from customer service ended, with, "I understand the situation is confusing." The situation is black and white. It is NOT confusing at all. I responded to the customer service email asking to speak to the veterinarian's supervisor. I said the veterinarian lied. I received a reply from a different customer service rep stating, "We apologize for any misunderstanding(s)." This isn't a misunderstanding. They are spinning their own story. It's very simple to follow. The vet made a mistake, and then lied about what happened making the situation worse. I emailed again asking for a supervisor a second time, the response I received from customer service was, "We have forwarded your concern to the management team in charge of this vet. They DO NOT contact pet parents!" Really, they do not contact pet parents!!! This company has nerve! Remember, I stated that the VIP girl who checked us in had a conversation with us about our other pug who was double vaccinated, and I had to rush him to an emergency vet because his head blew up double the size....and the veterinarian has the nerve to lie and say she explained why she was giving a second dose, and no questions arose while we were there. ARE YOU KIDDING!!!!!??? How dare the veterinarian and how dare VIP Petcare to blow me off and simply dismiss my factual concern.
